Alisha here with my card using our collaboration partner Simon Says Stamp’s Happy & Smile stamp set. This set has a bunch of cute sentiments as well as the gorgeous scripted “Happy” and “Smile”.
Here I’m using a brand new stamp set from Hero Arts called Color Layering Flower for you.
I love love love all the new layering stamps, but this was my favorite!
I stamped the flower & leaves using some Simon Says Stamp inks and cut them out using my brother scan n cut, cut out a white panel from a My Favorite Things die and stamped my sentiment with Hero Arts black ink before mounting onto my sparkly card base.
We are collaborating with the awesome folks at Simon Says Stamp this month – and we’re also adding some sparkle for our month-long challenge.
I used an ombre ink pad to get the gradient of colour in the stenciled background. I thought it would look interesting to have the paler colour in the centre, fading out to the darker colour (but less intense inking) towards the edge.
Hi friends! Welcome back to another card featuring Hero Arts, Simon Says Stamp and a wee bit of sparkle!
We hope you’ll join this month’s challenge; you can link your cards up HERE!
I saw a video from Kristina a couple weeks ago where she used freezer paper to preserve images before water coloring the card stock; you can see the video HERE. ADORABLE; I had no idea! I cut several small hearts and outlines from SSS’s February card kit, then also die cut 3 of the sketch hearts, all from freezer paper. I adhered these to my Tim Holtz water color paper with my household iron! 😀
I used Distress Inks to create the background, re-heated the wax paper as Kristina shows in her video and removed the pieces. Voila, is that not gorgeous?!? Once it was completely dry, I gave it a spritz with shimmer sparkle – absolutely impossible to see in the photos, but it’s there, I promise!!
I added some silver/white washi tape down the side and finished up the card. I layered on some pink polka dot acetate, thread, the HELLO stamp and die cut from Hero Arts cut from craft foam and silver card stock, and embossed the tag line on black card stock. I added some enamel hearts and sequins to finish off the focal point.
For some added interested, I scored 3 lines in the lower right-hand corner at varying lengths.
Thanks for stopping by; we can’t wait to see what little bit of sparkle YOU create this month! Have a great day!
