Layered Roses

July 10, 2017

Hello! Michelle Lupton here today, sharing a card using pretty floral images from Winnie and Walter.

I stamped the flowers and leaves multiple times onto some Canson watercolour paper, and white heat embossed them. I then coloured them with some Zig clean color real brush markers and sprayed with water to allow the colours to blend. I then fussy cut the images and spent ages (I mean AGES!!) trying to figure out how to arrange them on my card.  When I was happy with how they looked, I promptly knocked the card and sent the flowers flying, so I had to start again! When I was happy the second time around, I very carefully took a photo with my phone camera so that I could arrange them the way I liked while adhering them down – some flat on the card, some raised with dimensional adhesive. I then VERY CAREFULLY stamped my sentiment from the Hero Arts set “You’re so lovely” (I have ruined so many cards by mucking up the sentiment at the last minute!) and then added a bunch of sequins (I usually limit myself to 3 or maybe 5 sequins, but I couldn’t seem to stop with this card!)

Have you entered our July challenge yet?

Stenciled & Embossed Mother’s Day Card

April 21, 2017

Hello and happy Friday!!    Kimberly here to share a pretty Mother’s Day card with very little stamping!   I know – you’re thinking….”whaaat?”.   But seriously, the only thing I stamped on today’s card is the sentiment.    Let me show you how I created it!

I started by using the Spiral Petals stencil and stenciling just the center portion with Pale Tomato & Bubble Gum Shadow Inks.   I moved the stencil a little and added the illusion of leaves with Green Hills & Lime Green Shadow Inks.   I moved the stencil around to create all of the blooms, taping off areas I didn’t want to to ink as I went.

When I was happy with everything, I centered the stencil on the panel and smooshed my Versamark pad into it.   I coated this layer with clear embossing powder.   The subtle shine gives a lot of added interest to the stenciled panel!

I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum, using Stick-It to adhere the vellum strip.   A few (perfectly matching!) sequins from the Ombre Sequin Pack finished off the card!

Thanks for stopping by today!  There’s a few more days to enter our Anything Goes challenge this month…..you have until 11:59 p.m. EST on April 29 to link up!   Can’t wait to see your projects!

Happy Birthday with Studio Katia

March 22, 2017

Hi.. Friends, Swapna here with my post for A blog named hero using products from our March collaborating company Studio Katia.

I hope you have already entered to our March challenge which is Bling it up.

I used pencil image from Studio katia’s Teacher’s apple stamp and stamped it around the white panel with black ink. I used various soft inks from Hero arts to blend on a small panel and die cut happy word. I die cut few more words with black card stock and layered them.

Heat embossed co-ordinating sentiment from same set on black scrap. Foam mounted the panel with foam tape on card base.

Glued the die cut with glossy accent and foam mounted heat embossed sentiment. Added few sequins for blig it up.

Hope you liked my take on current challenge.

Hello Friend!

March 1, 2017

Hello everyone,

It’s Donna here to share with you my project using Hero Arts products and Studio Katia.  I am so excited to be the first to tell you that we’re collaborating with Studio Katia for the month of March.   I have to admit, I have never heard of Studio Katia, but I must tell you her stamps are so cute and very easy to work with!!!  She also has some fabulous embellishments and sequins.  Be sure to go check her store and blog out to see all the wonderful things she has to offer.

Here is my project for today!

Closer look of the images and these cute clear round drops

I am in love with this newly released stamp set by Studio Katia called Hello Alice.  The set has two sentiments and I love the script.  I cut the images out and colored them with copics.  I am also using the newly released stamp set by Hero Arts called Woof.  Talking about cute!  This stamp set has several dogs and several sentiments. This is definitely a go to set that everyone needs in their stash!  I used two of the puppies and also colored them with copics.  I used some distress ink on the top layer for my background and added the images with foam tape.  I finished the card off by adding several of the newly released  Studio Katia Clear Round drops.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my card.  Thank you Studio Katia for collaborating with A Blog Named Hero!  I hope you all will come back again soon to see some more wonderful  creations by the Design Team.  Also, you will want to come back on Monday, March 6 to join a new Challenge for the month of March.

Sending Warm Fuzzies

February 13, 2017

Hello! Michelle here today with a clean and simple card using oh so cute stamps from Jane’s Doodles!

Yes, your eyes do not deceive – that is a Pegasus/Unicorn hybrid! And I made it into a rainbow Pegasus/Unicorn hybrid! I started with the background, which I stenciled using Hero Arts Soft Pool shadow ink and the Hero Arts Rain Dance Pattern stencil.   I then stamped the Pegasus/unicorn and the clouds in Hero Arts intense black in and coloured them with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment from an older Hero Arts set called “Everyday Sayings” (unfortunately discontinued) in Versamark ink onto a piece of Hero Arts Pool layering paper and white embossed it. I attached all these pieces to the card with dimensional adhesive, before adding the finishing touches of a scattering of sequins, and some Wink of Stella.

Thanks so much to Jane’s Doodles!

And make sure you check out our challenge for the month of February:

Thanks for visiting 🙂
