Sequins and Glitter

July 11, 2015

Aloha Friends!
Niki G. here back to share a card that was inspired by
our latest challenge (pics taken from Pinterest)….did you see it?!
Did you hear me squeal?! Talk about endless possibilities!
I decided sequins and glitter were in order and here’s what I came up with…
I initially stamped out my sentiment and colored with copics.
Then I took out my favorite Hero Arts ombre inks and stamped away using those
fun sequin stamps from the Congrats Stamp and Cut.
I wanted a little more sparkle so I added a few random sequins in coordinating colors.
I thought I was done, but the sentiment needed something more!
I thought of just adding glossy accents, then it hit me to get out my Distress Glitter!
And that’s my card…complete with sequins and glitter!!
I hope you’ll join us for this fun challenge
for your chance to win
Mahalo for stopping by!!

A Cheery Birthday

June 11, 2015

ALOHA friends!
Did you see the latest challenge?
http://ablognamedhero.com/2015/06/favorite-challenge/
Today I’m showing off my favorite thing to add to a card…
COLOR!
I love all things bright and cheery and knew that our collab partner
had a tons of fun stamp sets to play with!
Pair the Simon Says Stamps with Hero Arts Ombre inks and you’ve got
a match made in heaven!!
Let’s get to the card…
A bright and cheery birthday using Simon Says Stamp Baby Party Animals,
All Boy (for the dots) and Sentiments of Be (small happy).
I created a window using Simons Says Stamp Stitched Square die.
To create the background I inked up the confetti stamps in the Butter to Orange shades.
The dots were inked up in the various shades of the Hero Arts Ombre inks
using the Fiskars Stamp Press to stamp them nice and straight on the inside of the card.
tip: pencil mark the square opening for better placement.
The dots was the perfect size for the square die…no masking necessary!
Then that sweet bunny was stamped, colored with copics and fussy cut.
The googly eyes was added for fun.
I adhered the bunny to the front of the card and the balloon to the inside with foam tape.
So that’s my Cheery Birthday card for today!
I hope you’ll join our challenge for an AWESOME chance at

A BIG MAHALO to Simon Says Stamp!!
And a mahalo to you all for stopping by!

Bokeh Sunshine

June 4, 2015

Aloha Friends!
I hope you’ve been enjoying this month’s collab with the
super generous and popular one stop shop
I love making backgrounds and when the new release came out for
Simon Says Stamp I knew I had to get this…
These stencils are so fun to play with and create such cool effects
with just a few shades of inks!
I quickly learned that the Hero Arts Ombre inks were perfect
(3 shades of color, 1 for each stencil!)
Tip: For a cool bokeh effect the lighter shades were used for the larger circle,
then the medium shade for the medium circles and darkest for the lightest circles.
These are the latest ombre ink shades that have come out!
Pretty right?!
And here’s today’s card…
I used different shades of Simon Says Stamp inks
to create the blue bokeh effect.
Then I used Versamark and layered embossing powders for that
fun Hero Arts Layering Graphic Flowers.
Here’s a closeup of the layered embossing powders…
To finish off the look I added an enamel dot and the sentiment.
That’s it for me today!
Our collab week isn’t over yet, so come back for more inspiration
to fill your Simon Says Stamp cart!
Mahalo for stopping by!
