My oldest Hero Arts stamp

June 15, 2016

Hello, everyone! Michelle Lupton here today to tell you all about a giveaway being hosted by Niki Garcia on the A Blog Named Hero Facebook page this week.

Niki has a $20 gift voucher to a2z Scrapbooking to give away – all you have to do is share your first ever Hero Arts stamp in the comments of her post. So that is what I am doing today!

I combined by first Hero Arts purchase (the Happy Birthday to You stamp), white embossed onto some black cardstock, with one of my most recent Hero Arts purchases (the Bold Floral stencil). Some Distress Ink sponging and a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh make for a simple birthday card!

I hope you will share your first ever Hero Arts stamp with us on our Facebook Page – Niki can’t wait to give away the voucher!

Niki will be choosing the winner on June 20th.

And don’t forget, our challenge theme for June is:

On the Second Day of Christmas

December 2, 2015

Aloha friends!  It’s December and over the next 10 days we’ll be celebrating with some amazing crafty celebrities!

I cannot tell you how excited I was when I found out I was paired with thee Virginia Lu!!!
Eeeeeeek!!!  I have admired Virginia’s work for some time now, she’s been published several times, is on several design teams, and hosts her own super fun Virginia’s View Challenge (which sadly, will be coming to a close at the end of December…so get your projects in!).  I could go on and on about how awesome and amazingly talented Virginia is, but I’ll stop here and let her take it away…
Hello, dear A Blog Named Hero friends! It’s Virginia from Yes, Virginia… Blog.  I am so excited to be here and share my love of Hero Arts Stamps.
I created my Christmas card project without the traditional Christmas stamps. This year, I decided to go with the sentiment ” Feliz Navidad”. Hero Arts’ Layering “Layering Hibiscus” is the perfect set for this design. I had the vision of stamping the hibiscus to frame the sentiment. I customised the sentiment with the alphabets from “Stamp and Cut Flag Coordinating set”.

I love to do multiple stamping with each layer. For example, I stamped the center of hibiscus in Brilliance Gold AND Age Mahogany Distress Inks. The former gives the extra shine and the latter enhances the definition and deep dark color. For the final touches, I added Gold Stickles and a small piece of green foil paper as accents.
I hope this inspired you to create holiday cards with your non-holiday stamps. Wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Supplies:
Stamps: Layering Hibiscus, Stamp and Cut Flag Coordinating Die
Inks: Cup of Joe, Butter Bar (Hero Arts), Altenew Red Cosmos Dye ink Pad, Fern, Jelly Bean (Simon Says Stamp), Brilliance (gold) by Tsukineko, Aged Mahogany Distress Ink (Ranger)
Paper: Simon Says Stamp Card Stock, DCWV Foil 6 x 6 Paper Pad

Can we say WOW!  I was totally in love with her use of the Layering Hibiscus and Christmas colors. Such a beautiful card!! Thanks so much Virginia for guest designing with us!

With my card I went with the fun Hero Arts Sparkle Borders set and turned it into a wreath with some silver embossing on vellum.  My background used the straight line stamp in white embossing powder on red cardstock to create some diagonal lines.

Added a twine bow, a few gem stones for more sparkle and some piercings for a framed edge, and that completes my card for today!

I hope we’re getting you all in the mood to make those holiday cards soon!  Be sure to come back tomorrow to see our next crafty celebrity!!  Stay tuned.

Coffee and Gingerbread

November 28, 2015

Aloha friends!
I’m Niki G. back with my love for the Hero Arts 2015 Holiday collection!!
I was completely enamored with Kelly’s Coffee and Donuts set.
Kelly Purkey’s line is not just for planners!
I decided to make my own background with the solid coffee bean
and Hero Arts Sand to Chocolate Brown ombre ink pad on the Hero Arts Kraft paper.
Then I die cut a square with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square and started
stamping out that sweet coffee cup using the MISTI tool to get the cups
exactly where they needed to be!
I used Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment ink to stamp out the gingerbread couple
from the set Baked by Lia, fussy cut them and adhered with foam tape.
I added some enamel dots just for a bit more color!

I wish you all a very happy weekend and big MAHALO for
stopping by!

Fleece Navidad!

October 11, 2015

Happy Sunday friends!
Niki G. here to share these awesome new sets by
Hero Arts and Lawn Fawn.

The Hero Arts Sparkle Border Set is so fun and versatile and I know I’ll
be using this set for more than just Christmas!
Here’s how I began…

I took my card panel and stamped out the Christmas lights border to create a background.
A quick and easy way to color them was to use a sponge dauber and ink!
I used the oval die cut to create a window to place the sweet little image from Lawn Fawn.

The sweet little lamb and sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Baaah Humbug colored with copics,
die cut with its matching die, and adhered with foam tape.
To add sparkle to the bulbs and present I used the Wink of Stella glitter pen in clear.

Here’s a closeup…

I hope you enjoyed this fun and colorful holiday card!

Don’t forget our challenge that started yesterday.

Two A-MAIZE-ING Companies

October 4, 2015

Aloha Friends!
I can’t tell you enough how super duper cool it is to be
collaborating with
this month!
Big MAHALO to Kelly Marie and the gang for sharing your A-MAIZE-ING products!!!
Today I’m using the fun set Happy Harvest paired with
Hero Arts ombre inks.  I love making and giving out encouragement cards
and Lawn Fawn has the punniest sentiments!
On a square piece of Hero Arts Kraft cardstock I stamped out
the maize using Hero Arts Lime to Forever Green ombre ink.
All the different shades created such awesome dimension.
The picket fence was die cut from Hero Arts Kraft cardstock using
Lawn Fawn’s Picket Fence Border Die.
Check out this quick and cool way to add a wood pattern to the die cut…
I used the Hero Arts Sand to Chocolate Brown ombre ink and swiped vertically.
I thought it created such a cool wood pattern on the fence!!
I adhered the fence with foam tape and all the little images were colored with copics,
cut with the matching dies, and adhered to create a sweet little scene.
The pattern paper is from Lawn Fawn’s Let’s Polka in the dark.
Here’s a closer look…
That’s it for me today!
Hope everyone’s weekend is going well.
MAHALO for stopping by!!
