We have collaboration with Neat & Tangled this month and since the moment I saw this stamp set called Gardenia Blooms Journaling Card, I thought of stain glass art.
I wanted to recreate that in a way and so I embossed the image in silver embossing powder. To make it fuller I added some new images to the original design by using the Send Pretty Mail stamp set.
I coloured everything with Inktense pencils and a damp brush. The main image took quite a long time to colour before I was happy with it so I wanted that to shine by keeping everything else simple. I added some stamping on the background and made my card base smaller. A row of sequins and we are done.
Thank you for coming over today and come back tomorrow for another great challenge sponsored by amazing Simon Says Stamp store where you can also get everything I used on today’s card.
Have a great day!
Here’s today’s card…
I placed a cloud die (any die would work to fill up the space) so that I could
evenly ink up the backside.
Once all the ombre tags were stamped I went over it with the sweet images in
Hero Hues India Ink Black (it’s an awesome solid black ink).
For some added texture, I used a polka dot embossing folder for the black strip edging.
So that’s my card!
MAHALO for stopping by today and be sure to come back for more
inspiration with our awesome collab partner Neat and Tangled!
I have another Neat & Tangled collaboration post for you today. I got to work with a beautiful set called Gardenia Blooms Journaling Card. I don’t scrapbook but I thought that this was a very versatile set to work with.
Today I used the journaling part of this stamp set as my focus point. I love to see others colour on craft cardstock with ordinary pencils so I had to try it out. I white embossed the image and coloured it in and then I wanted to add a sentiment.
And I made a boo-boo 🙂 I forgot to use my powder tool and embossing powder was everywhere. So I used a little strip instead and put it up on foam tape. I went over that with clear Wink of Stella pen.
I used Soft Brown ink on a background stamp and some sponging to tie craft cardstock with my white card base.
If you feel inspired by our posts this month you can find Neat & Tangled products (stamps, dies and sequins) over at Simon Says Stamp 🙂
Thank you for coming over today and don’t forget to come back tomorrow for some inspiration from Niki.
