Hello, everyone! Michelle here with a soft and pretty thank you card.
For this card, I started with some watercolour cardstock, which I stamped and white embossed with the “Highline Ironwork Background” stamp from Hero Arts. I coloured a few of the shapes in with Distress markers in Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick, then sprayed it all with water. I love how some of the spaces stayed darker, and some are very pale. (A great way to get the watercolour look without any watercolouring skills required!)
I then stamped the sentiment from Neat and Tangled’s set, “Kindness Matters” onto a strip of vellum and white embossed that, too. I wrapped the vellum around the watercolour paper, then mounted it onto a white card base, with a strip of peach-coloured cardstock on the side. (I don’t know the exact colour, I’m sorry – it was from my stash of offcuts!)
Make sure you visit again tomorrow – we have a brand new challenge for you that I’m sure you’re going to love! There will also be a chance to win a voucher from our ever-generous sponsor, Simon Says Stamp!
And thanks again to our August collaboration partner, Neat and Tangled 🙂
Thanks for visiting 🙂
This month we are collaborating with Neat & Tangled stamps, and we couldn’t be happier. I love their designs, and their quality. Stamp perfectly, the first time, every time. That’s my kind of stamping!
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Always has been. I love the gathering of loved ones, sharing a meal, and being grateful for what we have. This stamp from Neat & Tangled is perfect for this holiday, and I wanted to get a head start on my Thanksgiving cards. Yes, I send them. 🙂
I embossed the image on some watercolor paper using the new Platinum embossing powder from Hero Arts. It’s lovely. You should get some.
Then I used a few colors of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to draw around the embossed image. Then a wet paint brush to spread the color around. Nothing fancy, but I loved the grouping of fall colors around the focal sentiment.
Sprinkled a few sequins around the lower right of the card, rounded the corners, and now the card is ready to go to its new home.
We’ve got a great challenge going on right now, and a new one starting tomorrow. So make sure to join us and you have the chance to win a gift certificate from Simon Says Stamp!
I hope you all are enjoying our collaboration with Neat & Tangled!!
tip: clean your stamps right away so that the glue doesn’t dry on your stamps.
heat embossed the sentiment in Liquid Platinum to add more metallic to the card.
Here’s the completed card…
I really love how the Deco Foils look on dark cardstock, but still wanted
the card to be bright and happy. I decided to die cut the panel with
Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die and adhered with foam tape
to a bright pink cardstock for a girly finish!
