Hello – I Appreciate You

November 25, 2016

Hi friends – my very last post for A Blog Named Hero – what an INCREDIBLE journey this has been; thanks for having me!

As my last post, I wanted to combine a few of the companies that have allowed us to use their products this year:

And since I am forever asked to make ‘Thank You’ cards, that’s what I set off to make using 4 different stamp sets, 3 different companies. I was so inspired by THIS card but I don’t own any Dr. Ph Martins so I set about making the same sort of card using various distress ink markers sprayed with water. I even added some black details like Eunji has in her card, but mine are hand drawn.

I die cut the HELLO from water color paper, adhered to some white and black card stock for dimension, sponged with distress ink and coated with glossy accents. A black sentiment flag and some simple black/white graphic paper finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by; don’t forget, EACH team member is giving away a prize – that’s ten prizes up for grab. Leave some love for each and every blog post!

Hugs,

Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags circular card

November 14, 2016

Hi friends – welcome back to another post featuring some FUN Hero Arts products! And what a great month this is – we are saying ‘thank you’ to ALL our amazing sponsors this year, it has been so much fun to create with their products!

AND to pay it forward, we have 10 prizes this month – EEEEPPP!!! Please leave a comment on any/all posts AND for another chance to win, link up a holiday card – we love seeing your creations!

I made a fun circular card using Hero Arts new infinity circle dies – people, have you seen these dies? There are 18 dies in this set – amazing and a great price! My base card and top layer are all white but heavily sponged with ink for a distress look. I stamped the image repeatedly with red ink then accented the floral images with a Copic marker; to tie it together, I colored the stripes on the designer paper with Copic colors too.

I seriously struggle to color/stamp things in non-realistic colors – like those holly leaves, killed me not to make them green (#nerdalert) but I loved stamping them in Hot Fudge and still coloring the berries red; fun accent to the coffee cup, some glossy accents for the berries are the finishing touch. I stamped a sentiment on the inside and added more striped paper (smaller stripe). Next to impossible to see, but the holly image is stamped all over the top layer in 2nd generation Natural ink.

Thanks for stopping by; hope tosee YOUR creation this month!

Hero Arts Geometric Arrows

October 25, 2016

Hi friends – welcome back for another fun geometric challenge. I adore this Hero Arts stencil of arrows; I use it ALL. THE. TIME.!! And then I may have gotten a wee bit distracted and added lots of other things to my card. 😉

I actually started the card by sponging Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick with the HA delicate petals stencil (lower right hand corner). Then I used the HA arrow stencil and added 3 lines of arrows with whipped spackle, each at varying lengths. Once dry I added gray, black and a wee bit of red distress crayons and rubbed those in with my finger.

I recommend waiting till the whipped spackling dries completely…just stating for a friend, I wouldn’t really know first-hand. HA!

I took a separate piece of water color paper and stamped the layering flower in Worn Lipstick, Barn Door, and Fired Brick; once stamped, I spritzed with water and let them run. I stamped the leaves in Black Soot, 3rd and 2nd generation stamping, also spritzing with water, then cut with matching dies.

I adhered all the images, cut the panel down slightly and added a strip of black glitter paper and MFT gray and white striped paper; the entire panel was adhered to a Neenah 110 lb. white card base. Finished it off with lots of splattering and a handful of sequins.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you’ll join our geometric challenge; we love seeing your creations!

Hero Arts Geometric CAS You’re So Lovely

October 14, 2016

Hi friends – welcome back for another geometric card; have you joined our challenge this month?

I found a card on Pinterest which inspired this quick and totally CAS (clean and simple) card. I cut 3 squares from the Lawn Fawn designer paper, then 3 from chocolate paper and adhered down the side of the base card. I stamped the flower in chocolate ink on to more of the Lawn Fawn paper and coated with clear wink of stella. I die cut two leave stems from the Your’re So Lovely set from scrap vellum, adhered it all together, stamped the sentiment and there you have it!

It’s a wee little card, 3.75″ by 5″; but super quick and easy. Hope you’ll play along this month; we love seeing your creations!

Ellen Hutson Oh Ship!

September 25, 2016

Hi friends! Welcome back to another collaboration post with our sponsor this month, Ellen Hutson!

http://www.ellenhutson.com

I used this adorable set designed by Julie Ebersole, Stay Salty – so cute with great images and adorable sentiments!

I went completely CAS with a cute little boat, some sparkly waves and puffy clouds – easy peasy!

I stamped the image in Hero Arts intense black and colored with copics. I cut the frame with MFT’s wonky circle dies, adhered to a yellow card base and finished with a few enamel dots. Thanks for stopping by; hope you’ll join our TEXTURE challenge this month; we enjoy seeing your creations!
