On the Seventh Day of Christmas

December 7, 2015

Hello everyone!

Welcome back and get ready for some amazing inspiration. Today I have a special quest here for you and it’ Christine Drogt, the owner and brain behind Create A Smile company.

Hi everyone,

I feel so honored to have the opportunity to be with you at this wonderful time of the year. I’ve always been a Hero Arts lover and as a former DT member of A Blog Namen Hero I feel that I have a strong relationship to this project and to the girls behind ABNH.

Here’s my creation for you:

I got the Hero Arts Christmas Crystals last year and never had a chance to use them – this was the perfect trigger-moment. I took them out and played with them – tried different coloring techniques and ended up with a bunch of stamped, colored and fuzzycut crystals. They’re so much fun!
These three were colored with Zig Clean Color real brush markers and embellished with a thick layer of glossy accents (hard to see on the photos).

For the background I used some picket fence distress paint over a Create A Smile stencil and added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins. I added a little detail by scoring a frame around that panel – easy but with a huge impact. Some twine to hang the ornaments on was the last thing I added. Different colors, textures and shapes make this card what it is. πŸ™‚

Thanks for taking the time to visit. This team deserves your support and love πŸ™‚

Have a great Christmas time
Christine

And now on to my part of this post. This vibrant green card from Christine made me go bright with my background, but on top of that I used craft cardstock tag with white heat embossing and some water colouring.

Since I was making a tag, I made three more πŸ™‚ Stamping them all at once and then heat setting the powder all at once it was super fun and quick.

I hope your December has started on a good note and I wish you and your closest ones peace and joy this holiday season.

Season’s Greetings with Hero Arts

November 22, 2015

Hello everyone!

It’s all about Hero Arts this month and there has been some awesomeness going on over at this blog. Also a giveaway, but more about that down at the bottom. πŸ™‚

I made this holiday card full of poinsettias that looks super intricate, but there are a few shortcuts that I can share with you. I heat embossed the flowers and leaves on a piece of cardstock and then used Hero Arts Shadow inks to colour the images in. That is super fast and easy. The next part is more time consuming. I fussy cut everything out.

I used Hero Arts Silver ink and Sparkle Borders stamp set for the background. I also brushed some Perfect Pearls over it to make it extra shiny. I did the same with the sentiment.

Some foam tape for the flowers, glitter on centres and bubbles and we have a beautiful Holiday card. I don’t think you would mass produce this one, but for a special friend or two? This stamp set does come with coordinating dies so that would make mass production a possibility. I leave it up to you.

Now we have a great giveaway of two gift certificates from Hero Arts. Make sure you fill out the Rafflecopter thingy down bellow and keep your fingers crossed.

Thank you for coming over and have a wonderful day.

Season’s Greetings with Lawn Fawn

October 10, 2015

Hello everyone!

When do you start making Christmas cards? Do you do them all the same or all different? I think I’m starting to feel a bit panicked since weeks go by so fast. Since it is October already I think I have to really sit down and get to work πŸ™‚

http://www.lawnfawn.com/

I made today’s card with an amazing new stamp set by Lawn Fawn called Ready, Set, Snow. Lawn Fawn is our collaboration partner this month and this it’s a perfect stamp set for Christmas cards. Super cute and versatile.

I used the super tiny snowflakes and stamped them with Soft Sky and Cornflower inks and them clear embossed a few of the as well. I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts and the village and Santa on a piece of vellum and embossed it with white embossing powder. I added just some colour with pencils and stamped stars. I sponged some blue ink in bottom right corner and then I glued the die cut label on that part.

I like this card because it looks simple at first but there are lots of details to it. I hope you like it too πŸ™‚

Thank you for coming over today but don’t forget about our challenge
that goes live tomorrow. There will be a chance for you to win a gift
voucher for 25 $ from our amazing sponsor Simon Says Stamp.

Sparkle with Lawn Fawn

October 1, 2015

Hello everyone!

It’s beginning of a new month and that means new collaboration. In October we have an amazing partner. The one. The only. The Lawn Fawn. I know. How amazing is that!? We got to play with their new stamps and pattern papers and you can see some really inspiring posts from our design team all month long. Thank you, Lawn Fawn!

http://www.lawnfawn.com/

I’m starting with and adorable winter scene that I built with new Ready, Set, Snow stamp set. I manipulated the snow line stamp to make snow drifts, added the village in the distance and two adorable snow men in the front. Sentiment is from Hero Arts Sparkle Borders stamp set that I stamped with black ink and brushed some Perfect Pearls over it immediately to make it shine.

I coloured everything out with my Inktense pencils. I just touched a damp paint brush to the tip of my pencils and painted directly to paper. My card base is not watercolour paper so I didn’t do much blending and fiddling with my colours.

My final touches were stamped snowflakes, Liquid Pearls on trees and roofs and some extra snowflakes made with Liquid Pearls and Stickles. I also added two strips of new Let’s Bokeh in the Snow pattern paper to frame my scene and I have my first Holiday card made πŸ™‚

I hope you join us for our collaboration posts in the next few days and get inspired by our amazing design team and Lawn Fawn.

Have a great day!
