A Cute Birthday Card!

September 3, 2020

Hello there! It’s me, Cha. Today I’m up at A Blog Named Hero with another card with this Cute Challenge for this August 2020. Remember to use Hero Arts products to join us in this challenge. This challenge will end on the 10th of September. For me, cute cards mean cute critters or animals. So, this card is with a dog in the sky. I know many crafters have lost furry friends. My dog, Tara is 11. I cannot imagine how hard would be to be without her. So, this card is for those dogs that are barking in heaven.

First of all, I picked a 4,25 by 5,5-inch Hero Arts Canary Premium Cardstock (soft yellow cardstock) to create the background. I placed the stencil on the cardstock and held it with masking tape temporarily. The stencil that I used is called Hero Arts Sun Background stencils. I blended some Distress Oxide inks using an Ink Blending Tool, you can use a blending brush or sponge dauber. The inks that I used were Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade and Distress Oxide Mustard Seed. You can also use Hero Arts Reactive inks. Later, I sprayed some water to the background and dried with a cloth. Also, I trimmed the sides of the panel with Tim Holtz trimmer. I left this piece aside to continue with other elements.

Later, I die cut a cloud on Hero Arts Dove Premium Cardstock (white cardstock) from the Cloudy Sky Scene Die. I adhered to the bottom of the background that I’d created earlier with some Foam Tape.

I used my Mini MISTI Stamping Tool to stamp several times the dog and the balloon from the Birthday Paw-ty stamp set. I stamped the dog with the Hero Arts Intense Black ink and colored both images with Copic Sketch Markers. I used E31, E33, E79, 100, R27, R46, R89. I also added some white dots to the birthday hat that this dog wears, some black to his eyes, and some shimmer to the balloon. I added these elements on top of the cloud using adhesive tape and a piece of the adhesive foam circle.

For the sentiment, I also used the Mini MISTI Stamping tool to stamp the sentiment several times with Versamark ink on Hero Arts Black Pitch Premium Cardstock (black cardstock). Before stamping, I applied an Anti-static tool to avoid the powder adhered to other parts of the card that I did not want. Then, I added some Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and dried with a heat tool. I repeated the process twice. I cut myself the sentiment around the letters and added to the bottom of the card with adhesive foam strips.

To finish this card, I added some balloon sequins that came with one of the past kits of Hero Arts although it is discontinued you can see the sequins HERE if you could find something similar. These sequins were pink but I decided to color them red to fit with the colors of the card. I colored these balloon sequins with Copic markers and added them to the card.

And this is my card for this challenge! I hope you join us with this challenge! You can visit my blog if you are interested in more inspiration!
Thank you so much!

It’s Time To Paw-ty!

February 24, 2020

Hello, friends! It’s Seeka here, and today I’m sharing a birthday card featuring the Birthday Paw-Ty stamp set.  I’ve paired a sweet pup from the set with balloons from the Festive Balloon stamp set, and then set them against a backdrop I made using the Triangle Tapestry Bold Prints background cling stamp.

If you haven’t yet, there’s still plenty of time to join in this month’s challenge! This month’s theme is “Birthday.”

I started by stamping the pup and balloons in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock.  Then, I took my time coloring with browns and reds.  I used E23-E29 for the dog and a whole mess of reds (R00, and R20, R30, R21, R14, R43, and R27) for the balloons and party hat.  After I finished, I used the coordinating dies for the dog and the balloons to cut them out before I set them aside to work on the background.

I stamped the Triangle Tapestry Bold Prints background in Fresh Peach Shadow ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White.  Next, I used a couple of dies from the Nested Rectangle Infinity die set to trim it down, and to create a smaller white panel.  I stamped the sentiment onto the smaller panel and then began assembling the card.

I glued the stamped patterned panel onto an A2-sized card base and then adhered the sentiment panel with foam tape.  I adhered two of the balloons with glue dots and then used foam tape to adhere the balloon in the foreground.  Before adhering the pup with foam tape, I used a W2 Copic marker to add a bit of shadow beneath where he stands.  Then, using a black pen, I drew the balloon strings.

Thank you so much for visiting!

Watercolor Butterfly Birthday Card

June 6, 2019

97FBAFEF-96C1-4BB4-B93A-BBE43D150123

Hi Friends! Kristina here for my solo post of the month! I’ve created another card to go with out current Celebrate theme – You have a few more days to get your projects linked up! Here’s what I’ve come up with, it i’s Hero Art’s birthday after all…

ButterflyFlash

I fell in love with this butterfly set the moment I saw it. These images are drawl beautifully. While I have lots of colorful plans for them, I wanted to keep the coloring simple.

I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens for all of my watercoloring. I started by coloring my main butterfly, and once dried, I went around the white space fading it in from the edges of the card and the main butterfly.

P1060056

I glued this panel down to some fun foam for sturdy dimension, and then only an a2 sized card base. To finish I went over all of the black and white butterflies with a shimmer pen. Lastly, heat embossed my sentiment onto pink card stock with white embossing powder and adhered it onto the card with foam tape.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope I’ve giving you some inspiration to enter our challenge!

ABNH July Challenge: Birthday Cards

August 9, 2018

Hello everyone, it’s Juhi here and today I’m sharing a birthday card. The card is for this month’s Challenge – Birthday Cards. There is still time to play along if you haven’t already. You can find the details here.

For today’s card, I’ve used stamps and dies from the My Monthly Hero May 2018 Card Kit.

My monthly hero may 2018 card kit card

The background panel is made using alcohol inks, it’s been lying on my craft table for a long time and I finally found the perfect way to use it! I haven’t experimented much with alcohol inks, this is one of my first attempts with them. I love the result, I guess it’s time to experiment some more!

There’s still time to participate in the Birthday Card Challenge! You have until August 10th to play along, we love to see what you make!

I hope you liked my card today and thanks so much for stopping by!
