An abundance of happiness

July 7, 2020

Hi everyone. I am here today to show you a card inspired by our Old & New challenge. You still have a couple of days left to join this challenge.

“Something old and something new…”, of course I had to make a wedding card using some old and some brand new Hero Arts products.

I started by cutting three layers of clouds using my brand new “Cloudy sky scene dies” before I ink blended them in various shades of pink and coral to make some bright, pink clouds. I then ink blended the background blue.

Made by: Lise Mariann Alsli

I splattered a few drops of water and some Tattered Angels glimmer mist spray on the clouds and background before I turned to the images. I stamped the dancing couple from the February 2019 My Monthly hero kit wich is my old thing. I also stamped three doves from the December 2019 MMH kit (kind of old kit, but still an image I haver never used intil now, so something old AND new).

I wanted the woman to look a little more like a bride som I drew her head dress a bit bigger to make it look like a vail. I then colored the images using my copic markers.

I glued my images to the cloudy card panel and stamped my sentiment, also from the Descember 2019 MMH kit.

Made by: Lise Mariann Alsli

I cut my scene to size using a stitched rectangle die and glued it to a white card base.

For a finishing touch I gave the vail, parts of the dress, the bridal shoes and the doves a touch of sparkle using a glitter pen.

And there you have it; a cute couple dancing on their pink clouds.

I hope you will use the last few days of our “old and new-challenge” to dig into your Hero Arts stash and make lovely things.

Sending you all a few pink clouds to brighten your day.

Sending you feathery sunshine

June 9, 2020

For the card I am sharing today I have dug very deep in my stack of My Monthly Hero kits, all the way back to February 2018 to be exact. I had this idea to choose one image and let it “rain” down on the left side of the card.

I chose the feathers in that particular kit, but this can of course be done using all kinds of images.

Lise Mariann Alsli Sending you sunshine

I started by rummaging through my Hero Arts inks and found the colors; Grape Juice, Passion Flower, Orange Soda, Just Rust, Reactive sea glass and a nameless pale aqua color also from the February 2018 MMH kit.

I then stamped my three feathers several times using my Mini Misti layering the dark and light tone of the colors to create depth and movement in the feathers.

I used a silver glitter pen to draw a few details on each of the feathers making the card glitter and change as you turn it.

When I was happy with the images I die cut them using the coordinating dies. I also die cut a large white card stock rectangle using a stitched rectangle die to create my card panel and also a smaller stitched rectangle to stamp my sentiment on.

I then glued my cascading feathers down the left side of the card panel and cut the excess of the sides. I stamped my sentiment, also from the same kit as the feathers, on the small stitched rectangle and glued it in the bottom left corner of the card panel.

To finish my card I glued the panel to a glimmery aqua colored card base.

You have one day left to join our “Hugs from a distance”-challenge. I hope to see your card amongst the other wonderful creations.

Wish you all a wonderful day wherever you are.

Rainbow watercolor background

May 7, 2020

Hi everyone. I am here today sharing a card where I have made a quick and fun watercolor background to place my card image on.

To make this card I started by grabbing my Daniel Smith dot palettes and made a striped rainbow pattern on watercolor paper. I then dried it before I used the text background stamp from the January 2020 My Monthly Hero kit all across the painted panel.

Card by Lise Mariann Alsli

I then die cut a few flowers using the dies from the same kit and arranged and glued them to the rainbow panel. I then popped the panel up on foam tape and glued it to a bigger piece of white cardstock.

Card by Lise Mariann Alsli

I stamped my sentiment to white cardstock and die cut it to size using the banner die from the kit. I popped the sentiment strip up on foam tape and glued it to the card panel.

I then glued the whole panel to a white card base and finished the card by glueing a bow to the stems og the flowers and a few mirror sequins scattered across the card.

There is still time to join our watercolor challenge, so get painting, spraying, dabbing og making a lovely mess. We can’t wait to see what you will create.

I am sending you all kinds of happy thoughts and hope you are all doing well. Take care of each other.

Let the adventure begin

April 13, 2020

I love reading. Beside cardmaking and scrapbooking and embroidering, reading is my favourite thing to do and I am constantly on the lookout for new, cute bookmarks. This time I decided to make one myself.

I started by inkblending a few blue and purple colors of reactive ink to create a fun deep water background. I splashed a few drops of water on the background to create “bubbles”.

Bookmark by Lise Mariann Alsli

I used the glitter laquer from the November 2019 My Monthly Hero kit and a scrap piece of cardstock to make glittery rays of sunshine down in the water.

I stamped the images form the March 2019 MMH kit using black ink and the sentiment is from the June 2019 MMH kit.

I found these very old bookmark pockets in my stash that I put my bookmark in. I added a bunch of sequins inside the pocket as well. Since I wanted the sequins to move when you shake the bookmark I sealed the pocket shut using my fuse tool.

I completed my project by tying a couple of ribbons in the hole on the pocket.

I hope you will join us in our next challenge that will be published here the 15th.

Until then; Stay safe, stay home and craft with joy.

Make a wish

March 13, 2020

Hello everyone. I am here today sharing one last birthday card before our new challenge is up the 15th.

For my card I have used several stamp sets and dies to create this, fairy in the woods, birthday scene. I started by using left over blue ink on my blender brush to create a soft, blue sky.

I used the “Tree arch fancy die” twice on a couple of patterned papers to create a paper pieced wood clearing. I inked the edges of the tree trunks and tree crown using brown and green inks.

I also cut grass from the same patterned paper as the tree crown using the “Thorn tree and grasses fancy die“. I then glued my grass and trees to the blue background.

I then turned to my stamps. My fairy girl is a stamp from the 2018 December MMH kit and my cake is from the 2020 February MMH kit. I colored both of the images using copic markers, a white gel pen and my Wink of Stella glitter brush pen.

I glued my images on the scene and stamped my sentiment, also from the February MMH kit before I cut the scene slightly smaller than the white card base to create a very thin frame for the scene.

I hope to see you again here on our blog when our new and exciting challenge is up in just a couple of days.
