Galentines Day Card with Hero Arts

February 6, 2020

Hi Friends! Happy February – I’m here today stretching my Hero Arts stamps with a non traditional Valentine’s card.

These stamped were actually part of a summer / tropical release, but when I saw the “you’re the sweetest” sentiment while scrolling through my stamps I thought why not, Valentine’s Day is coming up after all.

The Process

  • I started by heat embossing the Hero Arts Jungle bold prints onto Paradise cardstock with clear embossing powder.
  • To add a little dimension I did some light ink blending around the edges with a color of ink similar to the paradise cardstock.
  • While that dried I stamped and heat embossed two flowers from the tropical florals stamp set, and colored them by ink blending with finger daubers and die cutting with the coordinating dies.
  • After adhering those down with foam tape, I stamped my sentiment onto a strip of white paper, which I backed with some gold foil paper and glued down to my card base, before mounting the whole thing on a white a2 sized notecard.

Thanks for stopping by today, and don’t forget, you’ve got a few days left to enter our Anything Goes challenge!

Happy New Year with Hero Arts

January 6, 2020

Hero Arts Wonder and Magic

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope you had a wonderful end to 2019 and holiday extravaganza’s. The last 2 months were a whirlwind, I’m just now catching my breath. Would you believe I never actually got around to sending holiday cards ( I know right! ) so I’m going New Year cards instead. Beautifully enough, most of your Christmas supplies can double over to New Year’s cards as well.

Hero Arts New Year Card

My Process

  • Add a double sided adhesive (like Stick It) to the back of a white a2 sized piece of card stock and run it through your die cutting machine with your snowflake background die.
  • After weeding the negative space, adhere down to your background paper, for me, this was glitter paper 🙂
  • Next I stamped and die cut 3 images from the Wonder and Magic of Christmas stamp set and planned my arrangement.
  • Once I knew where everything would go I adhered down a small piece of vellum backed with more double sided adhesive sheet, to add a place to stamp a sentiment.
  • After adhering down my stamped images, I used my stamp positioning tool to stamp my sentiment. You’ll need to stamp a few times since we’re stamping on vellum, or use a solvent type ink.

Hero Arts Build a (Wreath) Christmas Card

November 6, 2019

Hi Friends! I’m back today with another card for our Nature challenge. I’ve used the Hero Arts Build a Tree stamp set, but to make a wreath!

Hero Arts Build a Tree

I used 3 different branches from the wreath builder part of the stamp set, in 3 shades of gray/silver to form my main wreath. I then triple stamps, for maximum opacity, the red holly berries & my sentiment over top.

To keep with the monochromatic theme I had going, I mounted the card panel onto some black mirror card, and the onto silver glitter paper.

My finished card is 4.5″x4.5″

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hero Arts Holiday Card

October 6, 2019

Hi Everyone, I’m back on the blog today playing with new holiday goodies from Hero Arts.

I started by die cutting the new Hero Arts Snowflake Pattern Die from plain white card stock and then adhering it down to an embossed piece of pearlescent white card stock.

Next I die cut and assembled the Hero Arts Paper Layering Poinsettia and adhered down to the bottom left of my card, followed by a sentiment strip on the right with a gorgeous sentiment from the new Build a Tree stamp set.

Don’t forget, you still have a few more days to enter our September challenge!

Stretch Your Background Stamps

September 6, 2019

Traditional Christmas Card Hero Arts

Hi Everyone, Kristina here today with another project for our Stretch your Stamps challenge. You have a few more days to enter! I decided to turn a tropical foliage background into a Christmas one!

Hero Arts Tropical Florals

The Process

  • I started by heat embossing the Hero Arts Jungle bold print with gold sparkle embossing powder onto some dark green card stock.
  • Next, I used an assortment of red and green gouache paint to color the background in traditional Christmas colors.
  • Once dry, I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to some gold glitter card stock.
  • I die cut my main sentiment with the Hero Arts Christmas fancy die from a pearlized white card stock, and then stamped a coordinating greeting onto white card stock and trimmed to fit above.
  • I couldn’t find a coordinating greeting that I liked to go with the Christmas fancy die, so I mixed and matched pieces from a few sentiments, more stamp stretching at work 🙂
