Greetings Friends. It’s Teri and I am posting today for the March A Blog Named Hero Challenge – Floral Cards.I stepped out of my comfort zone to create this layered floral card with muted colors. I tend to go big and bright, so this is a little different! Check out the Challenge Blog! There are prizes!

It all started with a stencil from the Crossing Waves Stencil. In order to cover the slimline base, you need a symmetrical stencil where you can ink blend a portion of the stencil and shift to cover the rest of the base. I used Soft Olive Shadow Ink.

I have a short video documenting the process here:

I used the Protea Flowers Stamp Set to create dimension on the card. Multiples were stamped on watercolor paper with Black Ink. I watercolored several of the blooms gearing towards muted colors. Once dry, I fussy cut them out.

The card was assembled by gluing the stencil background on the front of a slimline base. The center portion is a cream cardstock cut 7.5 x 2.5 inches and stacked of 2 additional pieces of cardstock. Once centered on the base, I added the Protea Flowers with the bottom center flower popped up with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped and added.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Be sure to visit A Blog Named Hero and enter the challenge. There are prizes!
