Hello crafty friends. We are enjoying summer in my part of the world and that means we have delightful hummingbirds visiting us. They are so precious and pretty to look at. My card was inspired by these sweet little visitors.
I started with a panel of white cardstock the size of a slimline card which is 3.5″ x 8.5″ and randomly die cut 3 circles across the panel, using the nesting circle dies. I set that aside while I stamped the flowers with black ink. It was so simple to add color to these flowers as the set has two solid layering images, one for the petals and one for the stems. I used a light and darker shade of the same orange to add color to the flowers. I then die cut the flowers with the coordinating dies. Next I worked on the hummingbirds which I stamped with intensified black ink and again as the birds have 2 layering images it was fairly simple to add color with a light, medium and dark ink of the same color. I die cut those with the coordinating dies.
Next I took another panel of plain white cardstock and inking the panel with blue reactive ink. Spritz the panel with water for added interest. I then stamped the sentiment in black ink on the circle die cut paneI just below the second circle. I then then assembled my card with adhering the circle die cut panel, flowers and the hummingbirds. The card design was completed with adding sequins randomly making sure I liked how it looked.
