Hi there, crafty friends! It’s Seeka here to say a big thank you and good-bye (for now) with my last post as part of the A Blog Named Hero team. I’ve been so honored to be a part of this blog for the past couple of years and I’m excited for you to have a fresh new team of designers to share inspiration with you!
My two-for-one cards today feature the new Thank You Message Cover Plate from the Spring Catalog. I love these big bold sentiments!
I started off by using foam blending tools to blend Tattered Rose, Crackling Campfire, and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide inks onto an 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. When the panel panel was dry, I used the cover plate to cut the panel, saving all of the letters that fell out.
Next, I used Dusty Blue Mid-tone Shadow Ink to stamp the Ocean Waves Bold Prints background stamp onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Hero Hues Dove White cardstock. I repeated this to create an identical panel.
To assemble the cards, I used a bit of Post-It Tape to temporarily hold the ink-blended die-cut panel over one of the stamped backgrounds, to use it as a template for letter placement. I backed each of the fallout letters with foam tape and then pieced them into the openings of the die-cut panel. When I finished, I gently pulled back the die-cut panel and then, to finish my first card, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
To finish the second card, I backed the ink-blended die-cut panel with foam tape and adhered it to the second stamped background before adhering it to a card base.
Thank you so much for visiting and I wish you all the best! You can find me over on Instagram as well as on my own blog. I hope to see you soon!
