Transparent Front Card

January 3, 2021

Hello there! It’s Cha here with another post for A Blog Named Hero. I’ve been so busy the last few weeks but here I am with this card that I hope you are going to love. For this card, I used acetate but on the whole front of the card. This new challenge is about CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit). In my case, there have been many crafters that have been making this kind of card and I wanted to make this. So here it is!

First of all, Hero Arts will be releasing their new catalog in 2021 this month and with it, there is a new Hero Arts My Monthly Hero from 2020 included! The kit that is going to be released, is the My Monthly Hero January 2020. I’m going to use this kit for today’s card. First, I die cut all the flower pieces, using a die cutting machine and HA Dove Premium Cardstock. When I finished all the die cutting, I glued all the pieces on a piece of acetate and trimmed this piece with measurements 4,25 by 5,5 inches although I also cut a little bit from the bottom.

Later, I picked a white notecard and trimmed the front, and just left a lap so that I could glue the acetate piece on this. I also trimmed a narrowed white strip and added it on top of this lap, so you cannot see the glue behind it. As the card was too white, I decided to pick a HA Peony Premium Cardstock and colored the edges with Distress Oxide Inks Picked Raspberry, using a blending brush. I scored at 0.25 inches on this pink cardstock and added adhesive tape in the lap that I have already scored. Now we can see the card with white flowers and there is a pink inside of the card but we can also open this part (the pink cardstock) and write the message inside, so, we cannot see the message that we’ve written when we gift this card.

To finish this card, I heat embossed the sentiment with HA White embossing powder and die cut this sentiment with one of the dies that came with the kit. I added this to the front of the card with foam tape. Later, I added some shimmer to the flowers using the NUVO Aqua Shimmer Pen, Some confetti here and there, and finally, some drops of NUVO White Gloss.

I hope you like this card and join us in this challenge for a chance to win a 50$ gift certificate for Hero Arts.

Thank you so much!
