Hi everyone! It’s Cha here! I made a card for this month’s challenge, Embossing. I created a card combining two ways of embossing – dry embossing and heat embossing. I hope you like this card and participate in this challenge that ends on the 10th of August. Let’s do this!
I started creating the background of this card. I picked one 4 by 5,25-inch white cardstock piece (Hero Arts Dove Premium Cardstock). I added this piece on tab 1 on my die cutting machine, mine is the Big Shot by Sizzix, using the embossing pads in order to create an impression with dies. The die that I used was the Nautilus Fancy Die. I added two impressions, one at the top of the card and another at the bottom of the card. Then, I made some gold splashes with the Gold Metallic Glimmer ink. I glued this background to another piece from the same size to give it some dimension and adhered to a standard folded card.
Using the same fancy die (Nautilus Fancy Die), I die cut three pieces on white cardstock (Hero Arts Dove Premium Cardstock). I glued two pieces together excepting one. I heat embossed this last piece with Gold Glitter Embossing Powder from Hero Arts and attached it on top of the other pieces. Later I glued this piece on top of the background, using liquid glue and adhesive tape. Moreover, I added some white accents (NUVO Drops Simply White) to the seashell in order not to be too gold.
To create the sentiment, I die cut three pieces of the word ‘thank‘ and ‘you’. Each one of them, I heat embossed with the Gold Glitter Embossing Powder several times to get a smooth cover. I mean that I put both words on a piece of masking tape, added an Anti-static Powder tool, and rubbed the Versamark ink on them. Then, I added the embossing powder and heat set it. I repeated this process twice. These word dies are from a previous kit, My Monthly Hero kit March 2018. I attached all the pieces together and, at last, I glued the gold piece on top for standing out the sentiment from the card. I glued the sentiment on top of the seashell.
To finish this card, I die cut a butterfly on white cardstock again and added to the card with some foam circles. Then, I added some gold glitter to it with the NUVO Aqua Midas Touch Pen. I added some white dots and some transparent sequins on the background.
That’s it! This is my card for this month’s challenge that I hope you join us! You have the chance to participate and you could win a 50$ voucher for our sponsor Hero Arts! We are waiting for your cards!
Thank you so much!
