Unbearably Thankful

February 27, 2020

Hi Everyone!  It’s Caren here today sharing a Thank you card using the cute Unbearably Thankful stamp set and frame cuts.

ABNH_02272020

I used a hexagon masking stencil and ink blended on white card stock and adhered this panel to a black card base.  I stamped, colored, and die cut the images from the Unbearably Thankful stamp set and adhered the images to my card using dimensional foam adhesive.  I then stamped by sentiment from the same stamp set.

Thanks for visiting.  There is still time to join this month’s challenge – Birthday.  Today’s card could easily be used as a birthday card by just changing the sentiment.  So what are you waiting for – join the challenge today!

It’s Time To Paw-ty!

February 24, 2020

Hello, friends! It’s Seeka here, and today I’m sharing a birthday card featuring the Birthday Paw-Ty stamp set.  I’ve paired a sweet pup from the set with balloons from the Festive Balloon stamp set, and then set them against a backdrop I made using the Triangle Tapestry Bold Prints background cling stamp.

If you haven’t yet, there’s still plenty of time to join in this month’s challenge! This month’s theme is “Birthday.”

I started by stamping the pup and balloons in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock.  Then, I took my time coloring with browns and reds.  I used E23-E29 for the dog and a whole mess of reds (R00, and R20, R30, R21, R14, R43, and R27) for the balloons and party hat.  After I finished, I used the coordinating dies for the dog and the balloons to cut them out before I set them aside to work on the background.

I stamped the Triangle Tapestry Bold Prints background in Fresh Peach Shadow ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White.  Next, I used a couple of dies from the Nested Rectangle Infinity die set to trim it down, and to create a smaller white panel.  I stamped the sentiment onto the smaller panel and then began assembling the card.

I glued the stamped patterned panel onto an A2-sized card base and then adhered the sentiment panel with foam tape.  I adhered two of the balloons with glue dots and then used foam tape to adhere the balloon in the foreground.  Before adhering the pup with foam tape, I used a W2 Copic marker to add a bit of shadow beneath where he stands.  Then, using a black pen, I drew the balloon strings.

Thank you so much for visiting!

Birthday Gift Shaker Card

February 21, 2020

I wanted to show you a couple of options for using the Presents Background stamp two ways without using the cover die. I think that this stamp originally came out around the holidays butit is perfect for Birthday cards as well. It also has a die that cuts out around the presents to make a window card and I have linked to another card that also use the same die. I know that there are also a few new ones that just came out that look really fun too.

For this card I wanted to feature a rainbow of presents and use up some of the tiny colored pebbles you see inside the presents that have been cut out to be shakers. I stamped the background on white Bristol and used Copic Markers to color all of the presents and then added Silver glitter pen and colored pencil for some of the details. I used a craft nife to cut out the shapes and glued pieces of acetate to the back-side to create the little windows. I used Foam tape to surround the windows and added the Queen and Co. Colored Rubble. These are small enough that they really shake and move within the small containers.

I glued it on a white card base and then the struggle with the sentiment came in! Ha I thought I was going to run a big sentiment across the front or up the side but I just could not do it, it hid too many of the pretty colored presents. I took the mini messages set and created teeny tags that I glued with a small piece of matching twine to three of the presents to create a visual triangle.

This is so bright and fun and I think it could be for almost anyone regardless of age or gender for their Birthday. You could add more clear sequins or jewels but IRL the silver sparkles really shine and I did not want to overdo it. I hope you enjoy this fun way to use this background stamp it is so versatile! It could be colored monochromatically or with a limited palette or simply embossed on a dark card stock for a more masculine look. Some closer details below.

I hope you are inspired to get out your background stamps and get creative with them. Make sure to join us this February and link up your Birthday Card made with Hero Arts products!
