Archives for 2019
Starting with a piece of White Cardstock cut to 5×4.25, I used the Hero Arts Spiral Stencil and Hickory Smoke distress oxide ink to blend a patter to the left most side of the card. On a piece of Bristol Smooth White Cardstock, I stamped the Rose Stamp & Cut image in a water friendly ink.
Using my Zig Real Color Brush Pens and a water brush, I colored in my rose using blues and purples for the petals and orange and yellows for the center. With the coordinating die, I cut the rose and added white gel pen to the center of the flower. I temporarily positioned my rose so that I could decide on where to black heat emboss my sentiment which is from the My Monthly Hero March 2018 kit. The rose was added with foam tape and I included some clear gems for additional interest.

Hello everyone, it’s Juhi here with my first post for 2019. I hope you enjoyed the holidays with friends and family. I certainly did and now I’m charged up for the new year! I made today’s card for the ‘Winter’ Challenge, there’s still a couple of days left for you to play along.
I’ve used the Color Layering Cardinal which is one of my favorite winter stampsets.
I began by stamping the bird onto watercolor paper. I wanted to add a watercolor wash background around it so I covered the stamped bird with masking fluid and let it dry. I also splaterred some masking fluid with a brush on the rest of the watercolor panel. Once the masking fluid was dry I painted the watercolor background and peeled off the masking fluid once the paint was dry. I finally stamped the branch and added snow with a white gel pen.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you get a chance to play along with us in our Winter Challenge, we’d love to see what you create!
