Snowflake Happy Holidays

October 27, 2019

Hi crafters, it’s Caren here today.  I’m sharing a fun sparkly holiday card for you today.  Since it has snowflakes, I think it meets this month’s challenge – Nature!

ABNH_CB_1027

I die cut the Snowflake Pattern Cover plate from blue card stock.  I adhered it to a piece of silver glitter paper (it’s so sparkly!)  I glued this to my white card base.  I die cut the sentiment from the Happy Holidays Script Stamp and Cut set three times from white card stock.  I glued them together to give the sentiment more dimension on the card.

I added a few white jewels on the snowflakes to finish the card.  I love, love, love this snowflake die.  It is so pretty and intricate and it’s easy to create quick and easy gorgeous cards.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to join in on this month’s challenge – Nature.55810935_10156068475811156_4844296198728712192_n

Hello There

October 24, 2019

Hello!  Seeka here, and today I’m sharing a jungle-themed card that fits right in with this month’s Nature challenge.  I really love the detail of this background die and pairing it with a single, simple image for a clean and vibrant card.

I started by using painter’s tape to tape down a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper onto my work surface. I used a flat brush to add clean clear water over the panel.  Then I sprinkled just a bit of Brush Sea Green Crystal Colour powder around the panel and used more water and a round brush to help spread the color, taking care not to blend too much so that some light and dark variations remained.  I used a heat gun to speed drying and then I repeated the process, to intensify the color, by adding more clean clear water and more Brusho.

When the panel was dry, I die cut it with the Leaves & Vines Fancy Die. I also cut two additional die cuts from 110# white cardstock and set them aside.  To add some texture to the watercolored piece, I splattered some Finetec Arabic Gold watercolor and a bit of diluted Veridian gouache over the die cut. Then I stacked and adhered all three die cuts together.

The toucan is from the Hello Toucan stamp set. I stamped him in black pigment ink onto a piece of watercolor paper and then used several colors of Brusho to watercolor him.  I found that black watercolor was a little bit too gray so I also used black and gray colored pencils to intensify his black features and the tip of his beak.  When I finished coloring, I fussy cut him and ran a black marker around him to darken the white edges of the paper.

I stamped the sentiment, from the Many Everyday Messages stamp set, onto a strip of cardstock and then trimmed one end at an angle.

To assemble the card, I adhered the leafy background onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White and then adhered the toucan with foam tape.  I slid the sentiment strip under his feet and added a bit of glue to hold it in place.  And finally, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks so much for visiting, and don’t forget to join this month’s challenge!

Nature in Winter

October 21, 2019

Oh my goodness Fall is just flying by and it is almost time to start making my holiday cards, so for our Nature theme this month I started getting out all of my Hero Holiday Stamps!  It is always fun to “shop” your stash and re-visit an old favorite set. For the card below I used the Winter Time Fun set and did some simple masking to create the scene. To start I Die cut the wreath from some white cardstock and stamped the fox and the tree from the set, then cut some simple masks from post it tape to cover them as well as a curved piece to stick on top to create the snowbank.

Then I ink blended the night sky with splash ink very lightly using clarity stencil brushes and then more heavily using Blue Hawaii and then Grape Slush and let it dry thoroughly. I removed the masks and colored Mr. Fox and the tree with Copics and prismacolor pencils on top and added some detail with a micron pan. Finally I white heat embossed the sentiment from the set on a piece of lapis cardstock and some snowflakes on my colored panel. I carefully glued the wreath back on top of the circle and foam mounted it to the card and added some white details with a gel pen and crytal stickles for a little snowy sparkle.

Take a look at this set as it has alot of really sweet little wintry items for your Holiday cards.  Dont forget to join us for the Nature challenge. Link Up for the giveaway is here.> Product Links are below too.

Happy Crafting,
