I Melt for You

February 27, 2019

I hope you are having a wonderful day. I’m still trying to figure out where February went lol. I know it is a short month but it went so fast. Anyway, I hope that you have a chance to play along with us in our current challenge “Love is in the Air” using the beautiful color pallet below.

Here is my card for the challenge using the new Pearl Alcohol Inks paired the Hero Arts Color Layering Ice Cream set.

I used the alcohol inks on Yupo paper and blended them with the Alcohol solution until I was happy with the look. These inks have a beautiful pearl shimmer to them and were fun to play with.

Once the ink was dry, I used the Alcohol Lift Ink and stamped the “Love” sentiment from the Hero Arts Snarky Mix & Match set. I stamped the ice creams and cones on some white card stock using some and fussy cut them out. I added the sentiment using Versamark ink and white embossing powder.

For added sparkle I used some sequins in my stash and randomly placed them on the card. I hope you get a chance to play along with us and I can’t wait to see what you create! Thanks for stopping by!

Love is in the Air!

February 24, 2019

Kim with you today to share some inspiration for the current Love is in the Air Challenge!

For my card today, I decided to play with the fantastic Hero Arts Watercolors! I took a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor paper and started by adding three drops direct to paper of the HA Pink Watercolor and sprayed water to help with the movement using my Distress Sprayer. I decided to add some HA Strawberry Watercolor ink using the same method to deepen the color and I also added some Distress Paint in Antique Bronze also using the same technique.

Once that was dry, I dry embossed my Love Confetti die and added some “splatter” with the same Distress Paint and added the Picket Fence and Black Soot. I put that aside to dry once more.

I took my New Day Butterflies and stamped the second largest with Versamark ink and used my rose gold embossing powder. I was careful in using my Copic markers so as not to harm my nibs and remove my embossing. I then used the accompanying die.

I took my Tonic mirror cardstock and die cut the Wonderful. I also embossed my secondary sentiment using the same rose gold embossing powder and die cut it from a banner die.

I place all of my elements on the card panel and added some black Nuvo drops to the Butterfly. I also finished off the card with some rose gold sequins with Nuvo White Blizzard glitter drops in the centres.

Thanks for taking the time. All of the products used are listed and linked below. Affiliate links used where possible at no extra cost to you!

Every Single Day

February 19, 2019

Hello Crafty Friends! I have a wonderful Poppy card to share with you for this month’s challenge. If you want to see a bonus card I made, hop over to my blog for a special treat!

If you don’t know already, the theme is Love Is In The Air and there is a lovely and rich color palette.

Based on both the theme and the colors, I was inspired to make this card for my sweet valentine! I have had this stamp set since it was released and I never inked it up – oye.

Starting with a piece of of White cardstock, I used my Misti to start arranging my poppies. The colors for the poppies are Cotton Candy, Ultra Pink and Mulled Wine and the stems and buds are in Moss. For the sentiment, from the stamp set All My Love Decorative Hearts and edge of the card I used grape juice. I used black to stamp the stamen and a white gel pen to add details. The panel was trimmed down to 5.25×4 and added to a top folding notecard with craft foam and adhesive. A finishing touch was added with sequins for additional interest.

Remember to check out my blog for the bonus card I made.
