Hello all my crafty friends! This is Karen Bull and I am back with another post this month focused on A Blog Named Hero’s monthly challenge them, Sparkle and Shine.Clearly I have been totally diggin’ blues and golds. This combo just speaks to me. I used a few different mediums of color today and it was fun to mix it up a bit.
On a piece of Bristol Smooth White Carstock, I blended Hero Arts Navy, Pool and Cornflower ink. Using Shimmer Spray, I gave my inked panel a spritz. Using various stamps from the You’re Beautiful stamp set, I filled in the entire panel with images heat set in gold embossing powder.
To add additional interest, I used 3 shades of blue from my Tombow marker collection. I cut the stamped, inked and colored panel down to 4×5.25 and foam mounted it to a black cardstock panel. The panel was added to a top folding notecard. In a complimentary color, I added Ranger Liquid Pearls throughout the background. The sentiment is from the Color Layering Topiary stamp set and was gold heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock and adhered with foam tape.
I hope this post has inspired you and I cannot wait to see your Sparkly and Shiny entries for this month’s challenge.
