Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend and your week is starting off right. I am sharing a birthday card for this month’s challenge, this time making a non-birthday scene into a birthday scene.
I really wanted to use the June My Monthly Hero, but building an ocean scene does not inherently lend itself to a birthday card. So After creating my ocean and sky scene (ocean from the layered stamps and the sky from ink blending), I searched through my stamps to find so stamps that I could use for fireworks over the ocean.
In an old New Year My Monthly Hero, I found some sparkles and small bubbles whose size would make them perfect for small silhouette fireworks over the ocean. I bet you have some stamp sets that have some sparkles or dots that could help you build a small firework scene!
After I created my firework birthday celebration, I stamped and die cut out some hibiscuses in some tropical colors and adhered them in an arrangement on the bottom of my card, so it looked like they were much closer to us in perspective than the beach. I added some Nuvo Drops as some dew drops and accents to our flowers and our card is complete! I think the silhouette fireworks, mermaid and sentiment in black help contrast our colorful tropical setting.
I hope these inspired you to experiment with your own birthday cards and I can’t wait to see what you create! Thanks so much for stopping by!
xoxo
