Good morning! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! After some technical difficulties, I’m here!
Today marks the middle of our Watercolor Challenge, and I wanted to share another way to make cards with watercolor smooshing. I cut a piece of 8 1/2 by 11 watercolor paper in half and stamped these peonies on it. I then took my watercolor and added color to varying degrees to different flowers. I didn’t make my watercolor too vibrant or varied because I didn’t want to overpower the card too much when I layered all these flowers together. But I think this look would look stunning with each flower a different color as well!
I then die cut the leaves from a pale pink paper and stamped with black ink. After I layered my flowers on my aqua blue cardstock, I glued down the leaves where I felt they looked best. When gluing down many flowers, I often leave the edges of the flowers not glued, so I can tuck in leaves where I please.
To warm the card up a little, I added some yellow jewels to the centers and around the card. I used a sentiment from a new HA stamp set called Besties Stamp and Cut. I loved the classic bold font to contrast with our floral background. I added some distress ink some corners to give a bit more contrast, and this card is done!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see some of your own watercolor cards! Have a great weekend friends!
