How Have You Bean?

January 11, 2017

Hello everyone!

Coralynn here with my fist post for our “New to Me” challenge. I have to say that I had so much fun with the stamp sets from sponsor Right at Home this month. Even though there is nothing that I have done with this card that is new but this company is new to me. I haven’t had the pleasure until now to enjoy Nicole’s stamps and they are amazing!

For my card today I started out with the Rain Dance Pattern stencil from Hero Arts and used HA charcoal ink and added it to the lower right hand side of the front panel.

I then cut out the scalloped frame from white card stock and added foam tape and popped it up on to the front panel.  The I stamped the coffee cup with Intense black ink and coloured it in with copics and added the heart to the coffee sleeve with a copic safe black pen.  I then adhered the cup to the panel with liquid adhesive and foam tape.

For the sentiment I took a piece of vellum from my stash and stamped it with Versafine Onyx black in and the added clear embossing powder and heat set it with my heat gun.

To finish off the card I added a couple of black dots with Nuvo Crystal drops.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  We hope you’ll head over to the link up and play along with us.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon.

Coralynn 🙂

Love You

January 9, 2017

I have a clean and simple Valentine’s card to share with you today, using a technique I haven’t used in a very long time, with stamps that have not seen ink before!

I used the little heart from Right at Home’s set “Cup of Joy”, but I started by mounting it upside down on my acrylic block, so that I could stamp a solid image in Soft Pink a bit bigger than the actual heart image. I then cleaned the back of the stamp and re-mounted it onto the acrylic block the intended way, and stamped the heart image using Bubblegum ink.  I added a sentiment from “Color Layering for You” by Hero Arts in Intense black ink, and then finished with some Diamond Stickles on the heart next to the sentiment.

Thanks for visiting 🙂

Fluffy Hugs

January 6, 2017

Hello!  Kelly here today with a card made for our January collaboration with  Right At Home.

I used two fun coffee themed sets of stamps from Right at Home for my card; How Have You Bean? and Cup Of Joy.  The theme this month for A Blog Named Hero is “New To Me”, for my card I used the new to me stamps from Right at Home and a new technique.  My Mom showed me how to make fluffy foam or whipped cream for my cappuccino. I stamped the foam image on card stock than filled it with white school glue, a layer of glue spread out with a palette knife.  I than heated the glue with my heat gun until it bubbled and turned a bit brown.

I stamped the images for my focal point on a piece of water color card stock and used distress ink to water color the images.  When the glue was dry on the foam I fussy cut it and adhered it to the cup of coffee.  I stamped the Forest And Deer Bold Prints background stamp on the pool card stock for a pretty winter background.  Thank you Right At Home for joining us this month.

A Cup of Tea!

January 4, 2017

Hello everyone!

It’s Donna here and I am excited to be here.  This is my first challenge for A Blog Named Hero as a Design Team Member!  Our January sponsor is Right at Home stamps and I am showcasing two of their new stamp sets which are called “How Have You Bean?” and “Cup of Joy”.

The challenge theme this month is “New to Me.”  Since these stamp sets are new, I decided this is what I would use as my “new to me!”

RAH-Cup-of-Joy-Bundle.png

I love the new coffee sets from Right at Home.  I am a sucker for any coffee related stamp sets or coffee paper.  For my card today, I chose to use the tea cup from the “Cup of Joy” set, which I colored with copics and die cut it out.   My background paper is from Fancy Pants – Golden Days.  I stamped the tea bag on vellum,  die cut it out.  I use the Tim Holtz stapler and added a couple of staples to the tea bag.  I used the spoon from the “Cup of Joy” set, which I stamped on pattern paper from Fancy Pants – Golden Days pad and die cut it out.   I added the sentiment from the “How Have You Bean” set and finished the card off by adding some enamel dots.

I hope I have inspired you to join the challenge!  One random entry has the chance to win a prize from our Sponsor Right at Home.  Don’t forget to mention what is “new to you” in your project.  You can find the rules here for ABNH challenges.

The challenge ends at 11:59PM EST on the fourth Wednesday of the month (January 25th) and the winner will be announced on the following Saturday!  Please add your card using the linky tool below.   I can’t wait to see what you create!

Below are the supplies I used for my project:

Challenge: New To Me

January 2, 2017

Good morning and welcome to our first challenge for 2017!  Before we get started we wanted to thank you all for the warm welcome you showed our new design team!  Karen LK was our random winner of a $20 gift card to Hero Arts!  Karen, please send us a message via the contact link above and we’ll get that out to quickly.

This month we are collaborating with the fabulous Right at Home stamps!

And our challenge theme is New to Me.

There are many ways to interpret our theme but our hope is that you will try something you’ve never tried before, whether that be a product, layout, or technique.  Our design team was lucky enough to receive the brand new release from Right at Home to use for our theme though some team members are challenging themselves to do something else new, too! 😉

And now for inspiration from our design team!  This year we’re doing things a little differently.  Half of our design team will share inspiration for the challenge on the first Monday of the month and the other half will share on the third Monday of the month.  The challenge will remain the same all month long but we’ll split up the inspiration!  And, as always, we’ll provide lots of additional Hero Arts inspiration throughout the month!  So let’s get started!
