Simon Says Stamp was generous enough to provide us goodies to work with this month for our collaboration. I wasn’t able to use mine as my travel schedule threw a wrench into my crafting plans. So, we are giving it away!

It’s the Sensational Snowflake Collage die, and it’s gorgeous. And it’s up for grabs. We will draw a random winner from our challenge entries, and it’s open worldwide.

Sparkling Happy Holidays

December 15, 2017

Hello there!   Kimberly here today with another bit of holiday inspiration for you!   Can you believe how fast the holidays are approaching?!   I can’t!   I am super glad this month’s challenge theme is Winter Holiday  – it encouraged me to get a few more holiday cards finished and mailed!   This month’s collaboration partner is Simon Says Stamp – a big thank you to Simon for joining us this month!

I used one of my favorite Hero Arts holiday sets, Color Layering Snowy Tree, for this card.   Paired with the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp’s ‘Happy’, this card is such a pretty and traditional card!

For the focal point, I stamped and heat embossed the tree & deer with Wow! gold glitter embossing powder on vellum. Next, I stamped and heat embossed the snowy layer over the top of the previously embossed tree, and added the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  I love that you can double emboss for such an elegant look!

I die cut the stamped & embossed scene with a Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity die, and adhered the vellum piece onto some patterned paper.   A tiny triple layered gold bow finished off the card!

Thanks for stopping by today!   I can’t wait to see what you create for our holiday themed challenge!

Merry Christmas

December 13, 2017

Hi everyone,

Coralynn here and I have my card for our current challenge Winter Holidays.  I think this is the time of year that we all make the most cards.  I know it’s my favourite time to make cards. But so is any other time of year. 😉

I used the Huge Felicity snowflake die from Simon Says Stamp and cut it out of an A2 sized white card stock panel and covered it with glass bead glitter gel and set that aside to dry.  For this technique I think it would look really nice if you used a coloured card stock.

I took that panel that I cut out the snowflake from and stamped it with the marble bold print background stamp from Hero Arts with a soft blue ink and then adhered it to a card base. After the snowflake was dry I added liquid glue to the back and nestled it into it’s spot on the card.  I then took a sentiment from the recent card kit and heat embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder on to a piece of black card stock. I then cut it out and popped it up on foam tape.

I have been having fun with this challenge and I hope you all do as well.  Be sure to link up your projects and tag us in social media so we can see all your wonderful creations.

Rainbow snowflake

December 11, 2017

Hello! Michelle here to share a rainbowy Christmas card I made using a die from Simon Says Stamp and stamps from Hero Arts.

I made a stencil by die cutting some scrap paper with the Bliss Snowflake Die from Simon Says Stamp, and adding a thin layer of Tombow Mono Multi glue to it and letting it dry – when dry, this glue becomes repositionable, so is great for creating masks. I then painted over the mask with a rainbow of Distress Ink colours, heat set the colours and removed the mask.

I used a sentiment from Hero Arts “Joy to the World”, but I mounted it in my MISTI on a curve to add a bit of movement to the design. I then mounted it onto a card base with two strips of glitter paper on either edge, and added a sprinkling of sequins.

Have you entered our December challenge?

There’s a prize up for grabs from our generous sponsor, Simon Says Stamp!

Thanks for visiting!
