September Challenge Winner

September 30, 2017

Today is the last day of September and that means it is the day of winner announcement of our September Challenge which was kindly sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays.

Our Winner of this month is

Love the fall colours and coffee themed card by Shona Chambers.

Please send an email to ablognamedhero@gmail.com to claim your prize from our fabulous sponsor CASual Fridays.

We loved seeing all amazing entries and as always we received some really fantastic projects.

Here are a few standouts.

This cheerful and colourful card by Tracie caught my eyes the very first day, loved the way she created those tiny colour droplets.

Loved Betty’s card in fall theme. The colours, texture and design all go together so well. And yes those gold enamel accents add interest to the card.

One more fall colour inspired card stood out was by Kathy. Love that colour-wash and splattered background with rusty silhouette flower.

And very thankful for all participants and stay tuned for next challenge which starts on Monday!

Thank You

September 27, 2017

Hi.. Friends.. Swapna here with my post. This month we are collaborating with CASual Fridays and our challenge is ONE LAYER Card. Hope you have entered into challenge.

Here is my card using CASual Fridays and Hero Arts stamp. I used filler stamp from the smaller border stamp. I heat embossed it on vellum using Hero Arts platinum embossing powder. I heat embossed sentiment with same embossing powder.

Then I trimmed vellum panel and glued it on a grey top folding a2 card base.

Here is closer look at the sentiment and I love the detail that embossing powder gives.

Thank you for visiting.

In the abstract.

September 25, 2017

Good morning! Emily Midgett here today with a card a bit outside of my normal style… I recently had the opportunity to play with some alcohol inks and created a fun, kind of abstract background that I wanted to use on a card. What better way to use a pretty background than as a backdrop for some even prettier flowers!

I created the background using pink, purple, orange, and silver alcohol inks by dripping the colors onto some Yupo paper, then blowing them about through a straw until I was satisfied with it. Next, I die cut and stamped several of the flowers from Hero Arts’s Little Florals onto some watercolor paper using some waterproof ink. After I had stamped them, I colored them in a cheerful color scheme using Zig Clean Color Markers.

I die cut a small stitched rectangle and stamped a sentiment from the Acts of Kindness stamp set from Hero Arts using black ink. I mounted it and the floral bouquet using dimensional foam adhesive and added a twine bow

And that’s all for me today! Remember, you have until the end of the month to get your entries in to our current challenge. Our fabulous collaboration partner for the month of September is CAS-Fridays, so be sure to enter our challenge to be eligible to win a fabulous prize pack from our fabulous partner!

One Layer Thinking of You

September 22, 2017

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with more one layer clean and simple for this month’s collaboration with CAS-ual Fridays!

With fall arriving this week, I went with kraft cardstock and created a monochromatic one layer design.

The background pattern is CAS-ual Friday’s Full on Floral stamp.  The bird is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird & Branch set and the sentiment is from the Hero Arts Everyday Sayings set.  Everything was stamped in Versafine black ink.

Come join us as we wrap up another month of challenge fun with one layer card designs!  You can find the current challenge and gallery here.

Until next time, happy stamping!
