Wishing You Peace

April 28, 2017

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with more Hero Arts inspiration as our April Anything Goes challenge begins to wind down!

Tomorrow is the last day to enter, so get those Hero Arts creations finished and linked up on the challenge post to be eligible to win!

For today’s post, I created a serene design using a focal image and sentiment from separate Hero Arts sets.

I created the watercolor leaf by scribbling on an acrylic block with a green colored Tombow marker and then spraying the block very lightly with water.  I then smooshed the block onto a piece of white cardstock to create the watercolored look.  I stamped the leaves on top of the watercolored piece in black ink and then fussy cut the image.  The leaf is popped up on a piece of white cardstock with foam adhesive.

The sentiment is actually three smaller sentiments aligned vertically on the panel.  I layered the main panel on another piece of white cardstock and then popped up the assembled piece on the cardbase with foam adhesive.

Until next time, happy stamping!

Just Because with Hero Arts

April 26, 2017

Hi.. Friends, Swapna here with my take on the challenge. Our challenge this month is Anything goes with Hero Arts, you have few days to enter your card so hurry up. Now coming to my card.

This month we are celebrating birthday of our blog A Blog Named Hero so we are focusing on Hero Arts products. So on this special occasion I wanted to use two of my favourite stamps from Hero Arts and which are my very first stamps in my crafting journey.

I started with my card base which is side folding a2 size. I stamped the background with Hero arts charcoal ink on the front of card base. Then I stamped the flowers and leaves with various Hero arts inks on right side of the card. Then I stamped the sentiment from same stamp set with Hero arts black ink. To embellish the card I added few black accent.

There’s a few more days to enter our Anything Goes challenge this month…..you have until 11:59 p.m. EST on April 29 to link up!   Can’t wait to see your projects!

Bon Appetit!

April 24, 2017

Good morning! Emily Midgett here today. The challenge this month is all Hero Arts, all the time! So I thought I would pull out one of my adorable-but-unused Hero Arts stamp sets and whip up a couple of foodie cards for you today. Let’s get started!

To begin, I stamped several of the foodie images onto some Post Its to use for masks. I then fussy cut and used those masks with some very pale gray ink to stamp my little tea party cluster onto some watercolor paper. I watercolored them using my Zig markers and a damp paintbrush using the “no-line” coloring technique. It’s a bit less precise than my normal watercoloring, but I like the overall effect. Kind of artistic, which goes with the French feel of the Bon Appetit stamp set, don’t you think?

After I had watercolored my images, I heat embossed the “bon appetit” greeting with Platinum embossing powder. I used some Avery Elle scalloped dies to create a subtle frame around the edges of my watercoloring. (Sadly, I couldn’t find these frames anywhere to provide you with a link!) I trimmed my watercolor panel down and added a berry colored card stock mat in a slightly larger size. For some interest on my pale blue card base, I used the same tea party images from Bon Appetit and some watermark ink to randomly stamp the edges of the card base. I mounted my watercolored panel to the base with some foam adhesive.

For the next card, I repeated the same masking process to create a delicious-looking cluster of wine and cheese. I again stamped all of the images onto some Post It notes for masks, then stamped the images using the same super pale gray ink onto my watercolor paper. I colored all of the images with my Zig markers and a damp paintbrush, heat embossed my greeting with Platinum embossing powder, and used the same scalloped rectangle die to create a subtle frame. Instead of a berry colored mat, I used some merlot colored card stock to tie into my inviting glass of watercolored wine. I stamped my whimsical hors d’oeuvres around the edge again with watermark ink, then mounted my watercolored panel with dimensional adhesive.

Well, that’s all for me today! Are you hungry yet? 🙂 Don’t forget, you still have a few more days to enter our “Anything Goes” challenge. Just be sure to read the rules so that you are eligible to win! We love having such wonderful participants, and it’s just awful to not be able to choose an entry because a rule or two was forgotten. 🙂

Stenciled & Embossed Mother’s Day Card

April 21, 2017

Hello and happy Friday!!    Kimberly here to share a pretty Mother’s Day card with very little stamping!   I know – you’re thinking….”whaaat?”.   But seriously, the only thing I stamped on today’s card is the sentiment.    Let me show you how I created it!

I started by using the Spiral Petals stencil and stenciling just the center portion with Pale Tomato & Bubble Gum Shadow Inks.   I moved the stencil a little and added the illusion of leaves with Green Hills & Lime Green Shadow Inks.   I moved the stencil around to create all of the blooms, taping off areas I didn’t want to to ink as I went.

When I was happy with everything, I centered the stencil on the panel and smooshed my Versamark pad into it.   I coated this layer with clear embossing powder.   The subtle shine gives a lot of added interest to the stenciled panel!

I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum, using Stick-It to adhere the vellum strip.   A few (perfectly matching!) sequins from the Ombre Sequin Pack finished off the card!

Thanks for stopping by today!  There’s a few more days to enter our Anything Goes challenge this month…..you have until 11:59 p.m. EST on April 29 to link up!   Can’t wait to see your projects!
