Good morning! Emily here with you today to share some more inspiration using Hero Arts and our sponsor this month, Right At Home! Our challenge this month is “New To Me,” and you have until January 25 at 11:59 PM, EST to enter your own project! I hope you will, because you will be eligible to win a fabulous prize from our wonderful sponsor, Right At Home! Now, let’s get started on my project for you today.
I will freely admit that I struggle with creating my own, customized patterns. So, for my card today, I wanted to challenge myself to do something “new” and create a few patterns… I started with a panel of watercolor card stock that I had die cut using a stitched rectangle die, then stamped the sweet images from Right At Home’s How Have You Bean and Cup of Joy sets all over my panel using waterproof ink. Next, I added some coloring and shading with my Zig Clean Color markers and a wet paintbrush.
I wanted to create a non-holiday coffee cup, so I simply die cut the cup and whipped cream from Hero Arts’s Coffee Cup Tags and stamped a pattern using the cute little coffee beans and hearts from the Right At Home sets. I colored them all with my Zigs and wet paintbrush again, then set them aside.
After I had colored the coffee cup, the stamped patterns were too much when placed next to each other, so I die cut another stitched rectangle from some heavyweight vellum to soften the background a bit. The greeting, from the stamp set How Have You Bean?, was stamped on a strip of cocoa brown card stock, on which I then used scissors to snip the end to create a flag. I adhered my die cut coffee cup and sentiment to the vellum, then strategically placed my dimensional foam adhesive behind them and adhered it to my custom patterned panel. A few sequins from my stash finished it off!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! And don’t forget to pull out your supplies and have some fun with something “new,” then add it to our current challenge! Have a fantastic day, friends. 🙂
This is beautiful. Love the colours and the vellum overlay really makes the coffee stand out.

Love your colors and the vellum is awesome over the background. Great stamps set and sentiment is so cute.
