I had a blast coloring these Hero Arts succulents with my most favorite watercolors, the Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi set. If you haven’t tried these glorious watercolors, you are missing a treat! I also tried the new Silver Black Velvet Brush – Fabulous!
Archives for 2016
I love one layer cards. They make my CAS heart sing! We have a month-long challenge all about one layer cards here at A Blog Named Hero – you can make them CAS, like mine, or use masking and get a bit more complicated if you like.
I used the Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies set, with Soft Pool shadow ink, and Pool Mid Tone shadow ink. A scattering of Simon Says Stamp sequins, and that’s it!
Make sure you check out the first post of the month – that’s where you will find the Inlinkz to link up your own creation for our One Layer challenge. This month, we are collaborating with Concord and 9th.
Thanks so much for visiting!
HAPPY NEW YEAR and welcome to 2016 on A Blog Named Hero!
This year we are changing up the schedule and how we do things here at HQ. Along with a new DT, we will be having ONE challenge run for the entire month, every month. As well as the challenge, we will be joined by a collaboration company every month, who will be our generous sponsors for a lucky challenge-entrant!
Each month our entire DT will present two blog posts and at least two projects. One project will be using Hero Arts only, (since we’re so crazy for them!) and the second will use both Hero Arts and the collaborating company!
We hope you enjoy the new changes and will join us each month for our challenges, as well as our inspirational posts!
This month we are uber-excited to be pairing up with Concord & 9th!
Our challenge for January is
For my card I used the new Acts Of Kindness stamp set designed for Jennifer McGuire’s Share Kindness campaign.
I took the little envelope and stamped it multiple times using my Hero Arts Shadow Inks in Butter Bar, Pale Tomato and Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue. I masked off a rectangular section in the centre of the card using masking paper, so it had a nice clean edge. I then stamped the sentiment using Black Versafine ink, and coloured in the little envies using Prismacolour pencils.
For a final touch, I added some Zig wink of stella clear glitter glue to the sentiment.
I hope you enjoyed my first card for 2016 and will come back again to see the other posts all month long!
