Hello! My name is Kimberly Rendino. I’m so excited to be joining the A Blog Named Hero design team for 2017! I live with my husband, 15 year old son, 13 year old daughter and two cats in (snowy) central NY. I substitute for several schools within our school district part time, so on days I’m not called to work, chances are I’m crafting! My style is varied, but I LOVE bright colors – it’s rare that you’ll see me use pastels! You can find me over at my blog, Kimplete Kreativity, or on Instagram!
My card today showcases lots of my favorite Hero Arts goodies. I started by stamping the layered butterfly in the center of my white cardstock panel with Hero Arts Shadow Inks. They layer so beautifully! After I had all the layers stamped, I decided to die cut the scripty hello sentiment directly from the stamped panel, then adhered the panel to a black card base.
To make replacing the interior pieces of the letters easier, I kept the die cut word intact and carefully added liquid adhesive to just those interior areas, then carefully fit the die cut back into its spot. I used my Tim Holtz craft pick to lightly press the glued pieces so that they would adhere, and then I removed the remainder of the die cut word. I stamped the supporting sentiment and heart and added a few sequins to finish everything off!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my card today. I can’t wait to share more projects with you throughout the year! See you again soon!
And don’t forget, to celebrate our new home, we have a $20 gift certificate to Hero Arts for one lucky commenter! Have you seen their new Valentine’s release? Definitely something you’ll want to check out. We will draw a random winner from comments on all design team introduction posts (which began here), so the more you comment, the more chances to win!
