Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags circular card

November 14, 2016

Hi friends – welcome back to another post featuring some FUN Hero Arts products! And what a great month this is – we are saying ‘thank you’ to ALL our amazing sponsors this year, it has been so much fun to create with their products!

AND to pay it forward, we have 10 prizes this month – EEEEPPP!!! Please leave a comment on any/all posts AND for another chance to win, link up a holiday card – we love seeing your creations!

I made a fun circular card using Hero Arts new infinity circle dies – people, have you seen these dies? There are 18 dies in this set – amazing and a great price! My base card and top layer are all white but heavily sponged with ink for a distress look. I stamped the image repeatedly with red ink then accented the floral images with a Copic marker; to tie it together, I colored the stripes on the designer paper with Copic colors too.

I seriously struggle to color/stamp things in non-realistic colors – like those holly leaves, killed me not to make them green (#nerdalert) but I loved stamping them in Hot Fudge and still coloring the berries red; fun accent to the coffee cup, some glossy accents for the berries are the finishing touch. I stamped a sentiment on the inside and added more striped paper (smaller stripe). Next to impossible to see, but the holly image is stamped all over the top layer in 2nd generation Natural ink.

Thanks for stopping by; hope tosee YOUR creation this month!

Christmas Joy

November 13, 2016

We’re getting close to the holidays and that’s our theme for this month – also we want to thank all of wonderful sponsors from this past year.  So my card today uses some of the new Hero Arts holiday stamps and a die from Ellen Hutson, our sponsor in September.

My card is a reprise of one I designed last Christmas and it received so many compliments, I thought I’d recreate it with some HA stamps.  I first did all the stamping on a 5.5 x 4.25 piece using several shades of green ink.  The mistletoe and holly leaves were colored with watercolor pencils and blended with some Spectrum Noir.  Used a Copic marker on the red berries.  Next I die cut the piece with the frame die, layered it all back together on a card base, added the “joy” die cut and a few red metallic gems – done.  The “frame” is popped up with some foam tape.

This card and many more are going to Vera Yates and Jennifer McGuire’s Caring Hearts Drive – greetings will be sent to nursing homes all over the world – a wonderful opportunity to share some holiday joy.  Find out how to participate here.

A huge THANK YOU to the companies that sponsored us this past year and supplied prizes to our challenge winners –

Enter our holiday challenge here or click on the challenge logo in the upper right corner of this post – holiday card entries plus commenting on our blog posts will give you lots of chances to win prizes from the design team members. I have a Stamp & Cut set from Hero Arts plus some other fun stuff for my prize to one of the lucky winners.

Thanks for stopping by today and will look forward to reading your comments.

Joy!

November 8, 2016

Hi there everyone!  Alisha here with a card using some of my favorite Hero Arts stamps.

Love how quickly this card came together – of course I was binging out on Netflix so who knows how long this card actually took – wink wink 🙂  I could not for the life of me find my red stickles to put little berries on the wreath so I used my clear which unfortunately you really can’t see in the picture.
A huge thank you to our sponsors this year – it was such a blessing being able to represent your products here on A Blog Named Hero!  Remember to comment on any post this month for a chance at a drawing and link up your card for another chance at some goodies!
Have a blessed day!

Let’s Be Merry!

November 6, 2016

Hi friends!  Jess here to share a card for our annual Christmas event!  If this is your first time stopping by this month we’re sharing holiday cards all month long featuring some of our awesome sponsors from 2016!  And we’re paying it forward with 10 fun giveaways! 😉

I wanted to focus all my love on Hero Arts for my first card!  You’ll have to see who else I love later this month! 😉 Here’s what I created!

abnhnov2

To create my card I stamped the Garland Bold Prints background stamp onto dark teal cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder.  Then I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Messages onto one of the garlands and heat-embossed it with the same embossing powder.  Next I stamped the ornaments onto watercolor paper and heat-embossed them with gold tinsel embossing powder.  I watercolored them with gold and teal paints and let them dry before adhering them to my background with a combination of foam mounting tape and regular adhesive.  I added gold string behind each ornament so it would look like they were hanging.  Finally I adhered my panel to a white card base and added a sprinkling of gold sequins!

Mistletoe Joy

November 5, 2016

Sharing the Holidays with A Blog Named Hero and all our 2016 Sponsors!

The Crafty Nurse here to begin celebrating the holidays and share a special thank you to all of our extremely generous sponsors from this entire last year.  Please thank them by continuing to use their wonderful products.  I know I will!

As I’m sure you’ve heard, the Design Team is “paying it forward” by offering up prizes from our sponsor companies as a thank you to our loyal Blog Hop participants.  Please make sure you leave a comment on one of our posts this month and for extra chances to win, enter a card in the challenge.

For a little inspiration, I’ve used a beautiful Hero Arts set called, Under the Mistletoe, which I watercolored with Prima and Daniel Smith paints after I white heat embossed.  I finished off with some stamped berries using Hero Arts Ombre Ink.  Hope this inspires you to grab someone you love and give them a big smooch under the mistletoe!
