Hello! Jess here with a CAS card using no-line watercoloring!

I adore this new Winter Time Fun stamp set from Hero Arts. It was released as an add-on to the October My Monthly Hero kit. While the kit has sold out, this stamp set is still available and it’s adorable! To create my card I stamped the sled with antique linen distress ink and then used distress inks and a small paintbrush to color the sled. I struggle with no-line watercoloring but I’m slowly getting a little more comfortable with it. I start by using undiluted distress ink (as in, smooshed right onto my acrylic block with no extra water added) to outline the stamped image. I let it dry and then color the image using watered down distress inks to get a lighter wash. It’s important to be patient and let sections dry before adding a new color (which is something I tend to struggle with). Once the sled was finished I added a little shading with pumice stone distress ink. I stamped the sentiment with red pigment ink and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next I stamped the cardinal from the set on a piece of watercolor paper and colored it using the same technique. I fussy cut him and adhered it to my card with foam mounting tape. I trimmed my watercolor panel down slightly and then mounted it to a white card base.
I can’t recommend this set enough….it has some really cute images and sentiments and can be mixed and matched to make all sorts of different holiday cards! Love love love! 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful night!
