Thank You Foliage

August 29, 2016

I was so excited to finally get my hands on this Hero Arts stamp set, it’s called For You Flowers. And then the first thing I use is the leaves. Ha! The fun thing about this particular card is the ink colors I used. The base layer is Hero Arts Neon Green and the top layer is the Hero Arts Ombre Neon Chartreuse to Blue.

I used a filler image from one of last year’s Christmas sets, which I love, because I want to use every single stamp in a set. It is Hero Arts Color Layering Wreath. And then an awesome sentiment from a Julie Ebersole stamp set, which is why I invoked Julie and ran a bead of stickles along the edge of my card!

Fall Foliage

August 28, 2016

Hello fellow Hero Art’s Friends!
Kathy, The Crafty Nurse here today sharing some inspiration for our “Pop of Color” challenge in collaboration with The Ton.
Both cards were made using The Ton’s “Fall Foliage” set. This stunning stamp layering set is so great, I made two cards! The first card is in line with our “pop of color” challenge and features the stamp layering technique from The Ton’s You-Tube video.  I personally used a Misti tool to make sure my layers aligned. For background leaves, I stamped only the final layer in the leaf set so my focal leaf “popped”.  I finished off with an embossing folder over a diffuser for more “pop”.

My second card features negative watercoloring taught by Dawn Woleslagle of WPlus 9 in Online Card Classes Intermediate course.  I really enjoyed using this gorgeous stamp with this technique.
There’s not much time left to enter this months challenge, so be sure to link up your card before 5pm on Monday, August 29th. Happy crafting!!

Hibiscus Pop

August 26, 2016

For this month’s challenge

I decided to play with one of my favorite Hero Arts color layering stamps – the hibiscus can be stamped in almost any color and it is guaranteed to be gorgeous.

I used several shades of pink for the flowers and just stamped the veins of the leaves on white cs.  The black centers of the flowers and the veins were stamped in black ink and clear embossed so they are quite shiny.  I have had a hard time finding black and white striped paper so made my own by cutting 1/2″ strips of black cs and then adhering to a white base.  The sentiment was a gift from a friend (she kindly sent me a lovely selection of sentiments stamped on vellum) – and how nice to have them handy to add to a card.  To finish the card I used a black base and scattered some clear and black sequins.

There is still time to enter our “pop of color” challenge this month – a great prize from our generous sponsor The Ton is awaiting some lucky stamper!

Thanks for visiting today.

Hero Arts – THANKS, you are awesome!

August 25, 2016

Hi friends, welcome back to another fun Pop of Color card; have you joined in the fun this month? You can link up your creations HERE.

I used a piece of designer paper that was mainly black, white and gray with some super small dots of purple at the very top – voila, purple became my pop! I die cut the ‘thanks’ sentiment multiple times from purple paper then dabbed on some VersaMark and added platinum embossing powder. I then stamped the sentiment ‘you are awesome’ in VersaMark on vellum and embossed with the same embossing powder. I added a strip of leftover ombre paper and some white striped acetate paper, all adhered with my tiny attacher (first time ever used – yep, truth)!! I finished the card with some glossy accents over the die cut as well as a few scattered throughout the card.

Thanks for stopping by; don’t forget to link up your creations HERE!
AND be sure to stop by and visit our sponsor, The Ton!
