Archives for May 2016
Kristina here today with some inspiration for you for this months Tone on Tone Challenge!
I was originally going to just clear emboss a stamped image onto the background, but the dimension of embossing paste gives so much more texture!
Aside from the drying time this card was very quick and could be easily replicated using all the sentiments that come with the Happy Stamp and Cut set to make a complete card set.
There’s still plenty of time to enter this months challenge for a fantastic prize from our May collaboration partner Gina K Designs
Hello, crafty friends! Michelle L here with a tone-on-tone birthday card.
This card has 4 layers! (This is not common in my cards!)
Layer 1 has the tiny star background stamped in Versamark and then white heat embossed. I then used an ink blending tool to add the two darkest colours from the Hero Arts Pool to Navy ombre ink pad.
Layer 2 is die cut with the puffy clouds border die from Lawn Fawn, and has the middle and lightest colour from the same ombre ink pad blended onto the cardstock. I then laid the Rain Dance stencil over the top and blended very little white pigment ink over the top.
Layer 3 is the simplest – a stamped sentiment on a die cut piece of white cardstock, then adhered with dimensional adhesive.
Layer 4 is the owl image – stamped in Memento tuxedo black, coloured in Copic markers to match the blue-green tone-on-tone background, and then fussy cut and adhered with dimensional adhesive.
We’re collaborating with Gina K designs this month, which means I got to play with their “lots of lines” stamp set with this totally gorgeous sentiment. I can tell that the sentiments in this set are going to get a very good work out in my craft room!
