Aloha friends! It’s December and over the next 10 days we’ll be celebrating with some amazing crafty celebrities!
Hello, dear A Blog Named Hero friends! It’s Virginia from Yes, Virginia… Blog. I am so excited to be here and share my love of Hero Arts Stamps.I created my Christmas card project without the traditional Christmas stamps. This year, I decided to go with the sentiment ” Feliz Navidad”. Hero Arts’ Layering “Layering Hibiscus” is the perfect set for this design. I had the vision of stamping the hibiscus to frame the sentiment. I customised the sentiment with the alphabets from “Stamp and Cut Flag Coordinating set”.
I love to do multiple stamping with each layer. For example, I stamped the center of hibiscus in Brilliance Gold AND Age Mahogany Distress Inks. The former gives the extra shine and the latter enhances the definition and deep dark color. For the final touches, I added Gold Stickles and a small piece of green foil paper as accents.
I hope this inspired you to create holiday cards with your non-holiday stamps. Wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.Supplies:Inks: Cup of Joe, Butter Bar (Hero Arts), Altenew Red Cosmos Dye ink Pad, Fern, Jelly Bean (Simon Says Stamp), Brilliance (gold) by Tsukineko, Aged Mahogany Distress Ink (Ranger)Paper: Simon Says Stamp Card Stock, DCWV Foil 6 x 6 Paper Pad
Can we say WOW! I was totally in love with her use of the Layering Hibiscus and Christmas colors. Such a beautiful card!! Thanks so much Virginia for guest designing with us!
With my card I went with the fun Hero Arts Sparkle Borders set and turned it into a wreath with some silver embossing on vellum. My background used the straight line stamp in white embossing powder on red cardstock to create some diagonal lines.
Added a twine bow, a few gem stones for more sparkle and some piercings for a framed edge, and that completes my card for today!
I hope we’re getting you all in the mood to make those holiday cards soon! Be sure to come back tomorrow to see our next crafty celebrity!! Stay tuned.
