Welcome to the Eighth Day of Christmas! Gayatri here today. As you know we are celebrating Christmas here by showcasing some super talented designers. Hope you are enjoying the celebrations!
Today I have the amazingly talented Laura Bassen! What not to love about Laura? LOVE her creativity, her cards are beautiful each and every one of them, her videos are just awesome. Love her stories in the videos and being a visual person,it is great to see how she makes her backgrounds. I am huge fan of Laura and her work. I am sure all of you will agree with me.
This is Laura’s card for your inspiration.
“Laura created a very clean & simple Christmas card using the Color Layering Dimensional Bird stamp set with coordinating dies. The MISTI was the key to getting the two-toned inking on the bird.”
I love that bird on Laura’s card. Great two tone effect on the bird. Using MISTI tool to achieve this effect is super cool. LOVE the clean and simple design of the card as well. My inspiration from this card is the clean and simple design and use of MISTI tool. Here is my card using the inspiration.
I have used kraft card base. Using the MISTI tool I stamped the Christmas trees from Family and Friends stamp set using Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink and then using red and green pigment ink with slight offset. This gives the cool 3D effect. Love it. Then I used the circles images from the same stamp set to stamp with Unicorn white pigment ink around the trees to get the falling snow effect. Since I masked the bottom of the cardbase to stamp the sentiment, I added a strip of black glitter paper to separate the stamped part to the sentiment part of the card front. This also grounds the trees. I stamped the stars to the top of the tree from the stamp set in black and added Hero Arts pearls on the stars. Then I added tiny drops of glossy accents on the trees. Here is a closeup of the trees with the glossy accent.
Hope you are inspired by Laura’s and my clean and simple Christmas cards. Make sure to check back tomorrow to see which designer Isabel showcases along with her inspirational card.
Thanks for stopping by today!
