Happy day!!

July 27, 2015

Hi Everyone, Bhavana here today with my solo post for this month.  This month we have May arts ribbon as our collaborating partner and there were some amazing ribbons sent by them in my today’s cards I have used two of them.

For my first card I used Hero Arts Small things stamp set. I stamped the flowers in Hero arts shadow inks passion and pale tomato and Simon says stamp sunshine ink. I used the May arts ribbon mini gingham hearts to create the small flowers in between. Die cut the tag stamped the sentiment and stuck with foam tape.

For my second card I used Burlap vintage inspired print ribbon from May arts ribbon. Glued the ribbon at the background. Used Simon says stamp One with nature stamp set. Stamped the image in Hero arts pale tomato shadow ink. Gold embossed the outline. Stamped the sentiment in black ink. With the help of the scissors edges I gave the torn look to the front white panel. The torn edges perfectly match the ribbon a the background.

Autumn Gift Bag

July 25, 2015

Hello, Jessica here!  Today I’m showing off some of the beautiful ribbon we received from our collaboration with May Arts Ribbons!

We’re nearing the end of July and it’s been hot enough around here recently that I’m ready for September/October now!  Autumn is my favorite season and when I was looking at my ribbons I realized that several of them had a very autumn-themed color palette.  So, imagine for a moment that it’s the beginning of October, the air is starting to get that crisp feel to it, and you’re out picking apples in an orchard with the anticipation of having a cinnamon spiced apple pie for dessert!  That’s my inspiration for today’s project!

Baking is one of my other favorite hobbies and in a few months I plan to pick some honeycrisp apples at our local orchard and make some cinnamon apple nut muffins to stick in this bag as a gift!  Now I just have to wait for the apples to ripen!

To start off I took the pretty gold metallic ribbon and wove it through the natural woven ladder ribbon.  Then I wrapped it around the center of the bag, tucked it over the top of the bag, and used clear gift wrap tape to secure it inside.  Next I die-cut a tag from Simon Says Stamp Chocolate cardstock, stamped the sentiment on it with versamark, and heat-embossed the sentiment with Hero Arts gold embossing powder.  I stamped the apple from Hero Art’s Stamp Your Own Fruit onto white cardstock and used copic markers to color my apple.  I also added a little shine with a wink of stella clear glitter brush.  I fussy cut the apple and adhered it to the tag with foam mounting tape.  I punched a hole in the top of the tag and used the gold metallic ribbon and another ribbon with little copper bows to attach the tag to the bag. I love the various textures of the ribbons and how nicely they compliment each other!

You make me so happy!

July 23, 2015

Hello, Hiya, Hi everyone!
Gayatri here today with my solo post.
I am excited to share this card with you because I did something special.
Before I tell you what it is, first here is my card.
This card involved a lot of masking and sponging. But that is not I am excited about. It is the little roll of  twine I am excited about. When I saw this bunny image, I immediately wanted to add something the bunny is holding and munching. So I coiled some natural twine from May Arts, stuck it on the ground, then made a hole between the paws to thread the twine as though the bunny is holding the twine. Again threading back the twine through another hole on the other side of the paw. I coloured the natural twine with black copic marker. Now it looks like the bunny is munching on the twine. Woohoo! Love it?  I do!

To make this card, I started with stamping and colouring the bunny, then masking the bunny with masking paper. The bunny is from Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Baby Animals. I then masked and sponged the sky and ground using distress ink. I also added some clean water to make some spatter. Once dry, I removed the mask. Then drew a black line defining the ground. I then trimmed off half an inch from the top of the panel. To the card front, I adhered black chevron ribbon from May Arts to the bottom. May Arts is our collaborating partner this month.
To the stamped panel, I stamped the sentiment from Stamp and Cut Happy. Then die cut the happy using black cardstock and two from white cardstock. I stacked glued them with black happy on the top. I adhered this under the stamped sentiment. Finally embellished with Pretty Pink Posh’s Aquamarine and Lime Sorbet sequins. This panel is then adhered to the card front using foam adhesives.
Love how this card turned out. That bunny is so adorable! Don’t you agree? I have listed all the products I have used below for you.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Thanks from the heart

July 21, 2015

Hi. I am a super fan of the clean and simple look in cardmaking. I wanted to play with that theme and the May Arts ribbon, our loved collaboration company this month.

https://www.mayarts.com/

I made two cards based on a white look and dimension. The panel is made with Stitched rectangles die by Simon Says Stamp. The heart is, from the same company, called Large Hearts Set.

The ribbon is easy to work with and it stays attached to the panel without any problem using double sided tape. The greeting is from ‘Sentiment sampler’ set by Paper Smooches, stamped with black and Green Hills Hero Arts inks.

Remember that yesterday a new challenge started at A Blog Named Hero, join us!

I hope you liked the cards, see you soon.
