It’s Embossing Time!

April 11, 2015

It’s time for our first challenge this month, and it’s all about embossing. Such a fun, simple, yet impactful technique. We just love it.

Here are the cards that our wonderful design team made for this challenge. Go to their blogs and leave them a little love. We all appreciate the time you take to visit us.

Spotlight and no line colouring Happy Birthday

April 9, 2015

Hello everyone!

We have a great collaboration partner for this month – Altenew.

Stamp set that I used is one of their most beautiful sets from the beginning – Persian Motifs. I used the main flower images and stamped them all over the card base with Soft Sand Shadow ink.

I used a border die to mark my non-coloured part and used Derwent Inktense pencils to colour everything in using stamped lines as my guide. Then I used my blender pen to blend colours and smooth them out.

Sentiment is from new Hero Arts release from a Stamp & Cut set called Birthday.

Thank you for coming over and I hope you join us for our first Challenge for the month of April. You have a chance to win a gift voucher from amazing sponsor Simon Says Stamp.

Thank You Altenew

April 6, 2015

This is the last day for our collaboration week with the amazing Altenew, but I know that the rest of the month features many more uses of these amazing stamp sets, so make sure to check back daily, or subscribe to our posts in the sidebar.
I wanted to take a moment to thank the lovely ladies from Altenew for providing these stamp sets for us to use. The quality is outstanding. Even better than the quality is the design. Wow. They are so detailed. And stamp perfectly. If you don’t have any Altenew sets, you should definitely change that. 🙂
For this card I used two of the smaller images from the Vintage Flowers stamp set and heat embossed them in silver and gold, onto vellum. Then I took the Hero Arts Unicorn dauber to make a circle behind the large image.
After letting that dry, which I will say takes a few hours, I rolled up some glue dots behind the gold flowers and applied the panel to a card base.
I then stamped one of my new favorite Hero Arts stamps on the same color cardstock as the base, and embossed in both silver and gold. Which I ended up absolutely loving. Popped that sentiment up on some foam adhesive, and I have a rather elegant, yet easy to make card.
All of these supplies can be found at our generous sponsor, Simon Says Stamp. Please go visit them.

Gold Dipped Rose Petals with Altenew

April 4, 2015

Aloha!
Hope your weekend is off to a good start.
Today I’m sharing
Vintage Flowers and was super excited to play with this AMAZING set.
I have to tell you…
This stamp set paired with the latest Hero Arts Ombre inks
is to DIE for!
If you look at the stamp set they go in order
of how you should stamp from
 lightest ink color to darkest.
In the roses here, I actually skipped the solid stamp
to create white highlights and used the detailed stamp
inked in Versamark and heated with gold embossing powder
for a dipped in gold rose petal effect!
I thought it was super pretty, what do you think?
Here’s a few pics on how I got started, stamping the
Hero Arts Border stamp in that beautiful
Mint to Green Ombre ink.
the MISTI tool really helps position everything
nice and straight!
positioning the leaves just right…
I fussy cut the roses and added foam tape for a bit of dimension,
then stamped the sentiment and heat embossed in gold
to tie everything together.
A BIG mahalo to Altenew for allowing us to play with their
awesome stamps!
For any and all supplies used here
you can always find them at our AMAZING and GENEROUS sponsor
Stay tuned for more inspiration from
the rest of our design team!!
MAHALO for stopping by!

Creating background with Persian Motifs

April 3, 2015

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another collaboration post with THE amazing Altenew.

I was inspired by our latest challenge Unexpected and I used small petal shaped stamps to create background for two cards. Main flourishes are beyond gorgeous and don’t worry I will use them in my next posts.

My first card is a birthday one. I used Persian Motifs for the background in rainbow order and added the cake and sentiment from new Stamp & Cut set Birthday from Hero Arts.

The second card is Missing you one for your father, son or maybe little brother. I parred this background with the elephant pair from OWH Lil Hoot 4×6 stamp set from Hero Arts.

You can find all of my supplies in the Simon Says Stamp store that is our amazing and wonderful sponsor.

Thank you for coming over and come back tomorow for another amazing inspiration collaboration post.
