Cards with create a smile

March 27, 2015

Bhavana here with my solo post I have two cards to share with all today. I am using create a smile stamp set and their chipboards along with Hero arts products.
For my first card I have created a background with Hero Arts Stencil Repeating loops and red ink. I have cut a small piece of Kraft cardstock and stamped the create a smile botanical love stamp with black ink and later stamped two more flowers on yellow and pink pattern paper. Have fussy cut the flowers and attached the yellow one with glue and attached the pink one with foam tape to give a dimension. Also added a few sequences and the thank you chipboard is from Create a smile.
For the second card I have repeatedly stamped happy with neon inks. The cactus plant from Hero arts  Stamp your own cactus is stamped with black ink on green and kraft cardstock and fussy cut it. I have attached the post with foam tape. For sentiment I used create a smile birthday chipboard. Also added a few sequences on the cactus.

Mixed Bouquet with Create a Smile!

March 25, 2015

Hi, Jessica here!  We’re wrapping up our collaboration month with Create A Smile Stamps but I have one last card to share!
IMG_9881
I mixed the Create a Smile set, Botanical Love, with Hello Flowers from Hero Arts.  I masked and stamped them onto Neenah Solar White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  After coloring some of the flowers with copic markers I die-cut the circle with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles die to create the shaker element.  I adhered acetate to the back of the panel and added foam mounting tape on the panel before filling it with Call Me Maybe 4 and 6mm sequins from The Ton.  I stamped the sentiment on the acetate with StazOn black ink.

I carefully lined up the inner circle with the stamping on the front of the card and adhered it to an A2 sized piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock.  To finish the card I mounted it to a top-folding card base of Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock and added a sprinkling of sequins.  I can’t believe how well these two floral sets work together…it’s hard to tell which flower belongs to which set! 😉
Many thanks to Christine Drogt and Create A Smile Stamps for collaborating with A Blog Named Hero this month!  I hope this collaboration encourages you to mix together some of your products together!
Don’t forget to play along with our current Challenge: Something Unexpected!  Our generous sponsor:
is awarding one random entry with a $25 gift voucher!!

Couple of Thank You Cards

March 23, 2015

Hello dear friends,

Gayatri here today with my solo post. I have couple of cards to share with you using Hero Arts Stamp and Cut set called Flowers.  I adore these stylized flowers and leaves in this set. Perfect to build your own cluster. I have two cards made using this set. One card using pastel colours and other bright colours. I wanted printed card type layout on my card. So they are mostly single layer.
Here is my first card using pastel colours.

I started off stamping the large yellow flowers in set of three and built my way around. I used blue, green yellow and grey as my neutral to build my cluster. I stamped the sentiment as part of the cluster but I also wanted it to be raised. This set has dies for the thank you sentiment banner. So I stamped the sentiment on scrap piece of cardstock, then die cut the sentiment. I adhered the die cut sentiment using foam adhesives.

I trimmed the panel and mounted it on blue card base. I have to accent the stamped panel using Pretty Pink Posh’s sequins.
My second card follow similar method of making but with one difference. Can you spot the difference?

The obvious difference is the panel is smaller and mounted on bright green card base. Then you will notice the leaves are stamped in black instead of grey. On the stamped panel, the only colour I changed is black instead of grey as neutral. Rest of the colours as the same as the previous card. This one change makes the entire panel look bright instead of soft. Of course mounting the panel on bright lime green card base makes it even more brighter.
I love how subtle changes in colour make a big impact on the overall look of the card. I once agin die cut the sentiment and adhered using foam adhesives. This time I used Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh as accents as I wanted the highlight of the card to be the stamped images.

Hope you got inspired. Simple stamping and making subtle changes in colour will help you stretch your stamps to make two or more totally different cards.

Come and join us at our new challenge.

Chipboards and ink sprays with Create a smile

March 21, 2015

Hi. As you know we are enjoying our projects with Create a smile this month. As soon as I had the Hearts Chipboards on my hands I thought about using them like an stencil. So I created two cards, the positive and the negative results.

http://www.createasmilestamps.com/

Here you have the two cards:

You can check the process in this video:

The Dylusions spray inks are really vibrant and I was looking for that.

I hope you liked the cards and the idea as another way of using and colouring chipboards. Don´t forget to check our current challenge and have a look to the amazing products of Create a smile.
