I’m here today for another Collaboration post with Clearly Besotted Stamps. Stephanie was super nice and shared some of her amazing products with us. She did not only send each of us one stamp set of our choice, but she sent us TWO stamp sets to play with. You are amazing and thank you very much, Stephanie 🙂
I chose Happy Everything and Basic Stripes and had so much fun playing with them. I made two pieces and none of them is a card. Trying to step out of the box for you today.
I made a gift set or better said a gift box and a coordinating tag for another gift or gift bag. I love this image of cherry blossoms from Happy Everything. It’s super cute and elegant at the same time. I made a small box and used the image as a peek-a-boo element on the lid. There is transparency sheet behind, so that goodies don’t fall out.
I used watercolour pencils and a blender pen to colour the image and then I decorated sides of the lid and bottom part with stripes from Basic stripes using Soft Purple and Green Hills ink. I also added some rhinestones and Diamond Stickles to finish it off. Finished box size is 4×4×2,5 inches or 10,5×10,5×6 cm. I filled it up with Rafaello sweets on this photo (you can fit 7-8 of them inside).
Taking inspiration from this box I also made a tag using some watercolour paper, the same cherry blossom image and some Distress Inks as watercolours. While I was colouring this in it looked really bad, but I left it to dry and I liked it much better then. This happened to me for the first time. Usually I like the look straight away. Word to the wise… don’t throw it away, just let it dry first.
I stamped With Love and punched a hole for some tread. I played around with the shape of the tag a little bit and followed the image on top and bottom for the edge. It’s a bit different, not classic, and “out of the box” (pun intended).
Thank you very much for joining me today and don’t forget to come back tomorrow for another inspirational post from our lovely Niki.
Have a great day!
