Welcome back to another day in this month long Christmas celebration!
It’s Barb Engler here today and I want to thank Linda and Mary Dawn for inviting me to be a part of all the fun this month. Hasn’t it been amazing? So many talented card makers sharing their favorite memories, or what they love most about Christmas, along with their love of Hero Arts stamps! What could be better?
Of course I love Christmas for so many reasons – family, food, wonderful memories, etc. But for my card, I wanted to share the beauty of the season in some other way. For those of you who know me, you may be a bit confused by my card. It’s well known that I am not very fond of snow. The fact of the matter is, I don’t like driving in it or shoveling it but I DO think it’s beautiful, especially when it lands on all the pine trees we have here in Minnesota. So, I created a card using Hero Arts’ Happy Holiday Trees cling stamp to showcase one of my favorite things about the Christmas season – the “beauty” of a snowfall.
I stamped the trees repeatedly with ColorBox Frost White Ink, then over-stamped with Simon Says Stamp Beanstalk Green and Olive Inks. I used Picket Fence Distress Paint, mixed with a bit of water, and a tiny paint brush to splatter the snow everywhere. I swiped the Frost White ink along the bottom edge, sprinkled it with Judikins Iridescent Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set that for a layer of glittery snow. The sentiment is from Hero Arts’ Holiday Sayings clear set.
Don’t forget A Blog Named Hero has two $25 gift certificates from Simon Says Stamp, as well as some Hero Arts goodies to give away to random
commenters on the blog. All comments must be left on ABNH, from
