Hi, all! I’m back agin, playing with Hero Arts’ Rain Dance stencil for a couple of kids cards – I told you back in August that I was having a ball playing with this stencil, and I’m still in love!
This time, I wanted to use the stencil so that it was not the focus of attention – I wanted it either as a background element, or as part of a scene (but not the focal point).
We ladies at A Blog Named Hero are all playing with Lawn Fawn goodies this month – I’ve used both stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn on my cards today.
On this card, I started with the Rain Dance stencil, and I lightly blended in some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink into the background. I then die cut the rainbow (from Paper Smooches) from white cardstock and coloured it with Copics. I pulled out some vellum and die cut the clouds using Lawn Fawn’s “Spring Showers” die set. I finished with a sentiment from Stamp-It, stamped in Hero Arts shadow ink, in Mid Tone Pool.
For my second card, I got out my Wendi Vecchi embossing paste and gelatos from Faber Castell Design Memory Craft, and used the Rain Dance stencil to create an ocean for the cute Lawn Fawn whale.
Confession time – this card was going to be a one-layer card, until I put a black fingerprint in the top left corner. Thank goodness for die cuts to cover up life’s little smudges.
I put some glittery embossing powder on top of the embossing paste while it was still wet, so it has some glitter as well as colour and texture.
Have you played along with our latest challenge yet?
