This month, all the design team girls at A Blog Named Hero are lucky enough to be playing with goodies from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft, Finding Nana, as well as Hero Arts! So much fun!!
I’ve also been playing with stencils and doodling – just playing and seeing what I could come up with. I thought I’d see if I could combine doodling with pens, using stencils, as well as using Hero Arts sentiments from the new “Many Birthday Messages” set, and some washi and a paper clip from Finding Nana.
For the patterned panel on this card, I used a stencil I’ve had for a while now, from ScrapFX (called Flower Pattern Stencil Small). I traced around it with the Indanthrene Blue Pitt Artist pen from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft, then did some freehand doodling with the other colours in the set (Pthalo Blue, Cobalt Green and May Green).
For this next card, I used my Hero Arts “Large Lotus Pattern” stencil. I did some doodling, but I also sponged some Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass over the stencil as well.
For my last card for today, I used my brand new Hero Arts “Rain Dance Pattern Stencil”. This one particularly reminded me of the paisley-like patterns on the Faber Castell: Design Memory Craft packaging – I love the doodles on the packaging (which is where I got the idea for doodling in the first place!):
I kept the rest of the card pretty CASified. (Actually, all 3 of my cards today are fairly CAS! Remember, CAS includes lots of “white” space – but that doesn’t mean it has to be white!)
Thanks SO MUCH to our generous sponsors for all the goodies they sent:

Supplies:
Gorgeous doodling! Love the colors too!
Love your post, Michelle – such creative cards! Love how you have doodled using the stencils. It looks so fun and quirky 🙂
"Rain dance pattern" – what a great name. Very striking card with the tag.
What gorgeous cards! I love your doodling. I have never tried that, I guess mostly because I'm afraid of "messing up." (Yes, I am a perfectionist!) You are kind of leaning me towards getting my pens out and trying doodling. You did such a great job, and I love your colors. Thanks so much for sharing your cards and being an inspiration!
