Hello crafty friends!
I feel like it’s been forever since I had a solo post 🙂
I hope your holidays were wonderful! Mine were but I’m glad to be settling back into a routine now. Too much crazy with a 7 month old. ha!
Just a bit of information: From now on my solo post will be stretching stamps exclusively. I know your shocked since EVERY solo post I’ve done has basically been stretching stamps. 🙂 The reason I’m telling you is because I really want your participation! Do you have a stamp you love but never use because you just can’t see it any other way? Let me know I’ll see what I can do. I look forward to reading your comments!
You might be surprised to hear this but I did not get a single new stamp for Christmas. eeek! I know. Babies are expensive. I did however get a Visa Gift Card which I intend to spend at Simon Says Stamp immediately. Until then I’m rocking the classics. Here we go!
Today I decided to stretch the Large Blossom cling stamp from Hero Arts.
I heat embossed the stamp using white and then colored with my distress inks. If you feel like your stamp isn’t large enough to carry a whole card adding layers can help it appear larger. I also “updated” my stamp by using Glitter Ritz all over the image. It’s so sparkly in real life and offers a completely different look.
Were getting a little bolder, more my style 🙂 I colored this card the same as the first one but the Glitter Ritz really softens the colors. These asymmetrical layouts are super trendy right now. You can use any stamps, new or old, to get a more modern look!
This time I stamped 3 of the image, trimmed them out and created one large panel. I adhered them all next to each other before I colored with my distress ink. Even though the stamps don’t go together as one whole piece coloring them as a unit and using the same white embossing gives it a look on continuity. For this one I stamped my sentiment directly on he panel using archival ink. Be careful it can be slick and you don’t want to ruin your pretty panel!
