Hi everyone, Sue here with my first post of 2014!
Today I’m incorporating our current challenge, which is One & Four (your project must contain one of something and four of something) with ATC’s.
For those that don’t know, ATC’s or Artist Trading Cards are tiny works of art that measure 2.5″ by 3.5″. You create them as you would a regular greeting card or multi-media project and generally they are made to trade with other crafters.
When I feel like getting crafty but my mojo has skipped town, I find the small size of an ATC is less overwhelming than staring at a big A2 card.
Some ATC’s I send out like I would a card.
I just write a quick note on the back, stick it in a fun envelope I made with my Envelope Punch Board and mail it. Who wouldn’t love to get one of these little cuties in the mail? It’s definitely a smile maker. For the challenge portion, I used 4 colours of Distress Markers and 1 stamp set.
For this ATC I just started out by getting inky and using some Distress Ink. I embossed the Leafy Vines and added the Thank definition and sprayed it all with Perfect Pearls. I used 4 inks and 1 sentiment for this ATC.
This ATC is a little plain to send out on its own so I added it to my stash and then when I needed a thank you card I went through my ATC’s and picked it out to add to a card front. With just a bit of stamping and embellishing the card came together pretty quick.
Here’s my last ATC. This can be sent out on its own with a message on the back or used on a card front, perhaps with a great background stamp.
I white embossed the cupcake on watercolour paper and coloured it in with Distress Ink and my water brush. I added Stickles onto the frosting for some sparkle and finished off with a sequin. The background was also watercoloured and stamped with the sentiment and some gold stars. For this ATC I used 4 stamps and 1 embellishment.
I hope you’ll try making some of these tiny “works of art”, it can be quite addicting!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
