Welcome to my day on the ABNH Christmas-stravaganza event!!
(sorry I’m a tad late… I have holiday brain and thought my post was supposed to be on the 15th… oops!)
For my project today, I wanted to share two of my favourite things during the holidays: Non-traditional colours and thank-you notes for gifts received.
Holiday Thank You
I love to make thank you cards to have on hand during the holidays when just a simple thank you doesn’t seem like enough. And being able to customize them makes it even better.
Pink and Aqua Christmas trees? Yes, please! 😉
I also wanted to share how easy it is to create these thank you cards without a single holiday stamp.
To create the trees, I used a little technique that I learned from the amazingly talented Jennifer McGuire called embossed resist.
I stamped the fabric design background onto patterned paper, clear embossed it and then added a darker but similar colour of distress ink over top.
Once I had the embossing and inking done, I cut out triangles for the trees. The smaller triangles are 2 1/4″ x 2″ and the larger ones (in the middle) are 2 1/2″ x 2″.
I inked the edges of the trees to add a little more definition.
And then I just added a small strip of patterned paper and stamped on the sentiment.
So quick and easy and so appreciated!! 😉
