Christmas-travaganza Day 8: Stamped Fabric Trees Pillow

November 30, 2012

Hello and happy Friday!

Welcome to day 8 of the Christmas-travaganza! Sabrina here to share a piece of holiday decor using some Hero Arts background stamps.

It always seems like this time of year, when there are a million other things to be done, that I get the itchin’ to do a little holiday stitchin’. This time it was an applique pillow that was asking to be made. To make it unique, I stamped a few HA background stamps onto die cut triangles with Crafter’s Ink and ironed them onto a fabric backing.

It’s a great way to get a little more mileage from your stamp collection and a great way to get or give a one-of-a-kind item. You can create a focal point on your pillow, combined with pre-printed fabric or stamp the entire thing!

It’s really as easy as inking up your stamp and pressing to fabric – the same way you would to paper. If you sew (or are interested in learning) and give fabric stamping a try, leave a link in the comments – I’d love to see your creations too!

Supplies:
Stamps – Be Jolly CG466, Designer Snowflakes CL622, Chevron Background (SC Exclusive)
Ink – Colorbox Crafter’s Ink

Wishing you a happy holiday season!

Christmas-travaganza: Background Stamp Tree Card

November 29, 2012

Hello, Marie from http://legojenta.blogspot.com here today, showing you a quick and easy card to make, using some of your favorite Hero Arts background stamps! Here’s the card I made, using a background stamp to make a trendy patterned tree shape:

I embossed the zig zag background stamp onto green cardstock, and cut out a tree shape using an x-acto knife and my ruler. If you emboss the entire background stamp, you can probably cut more then one tree shape from the same piece, and so I think this would be great for mass-producing as well =)
I then cut a small piece of brown cardstock for the tree trunk, slightly taller then I needed, and adhered it to the back of the tree peeking out from the bottom. I adhered the tree shape onto a white cardbase and stamped a sentiment besides it in red ink. I didn’t have a HA Christmas sentiment stamp, so I used one from Lawn Fawn. To finish off the card, I rounded all four corners with my corner chomper =)

I hope you enjoyed this little tip about using background stamps to add pattern to simple Christmas tree shapes. This could be used for other holiday shapes too, like ornaments, stockings etc =) Oh, and you could easily use your dies or punches instead of cutting something out by hand like I did. Lots of fun options to use your background stamps on shapes instead of just on your backgrounds =)

Have a great rest of your week!
Hugs, Marie

Christmastravaganza..Day Six…banner style

November 28, 2012

Howdy!
It’s Amy T here…thrilled to be part of the Christmastravaganza!!!!!!
I have a small but happy stash of Hero Arts goodness.   So, when I thought about what kind of project I wanted to share, I knew that I wanted to create a holiday banner.
I’ve been smitten by dictionary pages lately…I think they make a great base for any paper crafting project.
I was able to use some of my favorite Hero Arts Images:
Cling Large Solid Flower
Cling Music Background
Circle Lace

I’m also a tag-fanatic.
The glittery K&Co alphas have been in my stash f-o-r-e-v-e-r!
The best part of this project….

I’m keeping it:)
I don’t tend to make anything for me to keep, kwim?
Here’s the extra bonus of this project…it is super delicate…the banner is hung with glittery twine which is anchored by japanese tea cups…
Would love to see your holiday banners….link up!

Christmas-travaganza Day 5: Make it Merrier!

November 27, 2012

Cheiron here with some Christmas-travaganza fun for you! There’s no doubt that I love receiving a beautiful card in the mail any time of the year. When sending out cards, I like to make sure the envelopes are as much fun as the cards that are inside them. This is especially fun to do at Christmas time, it just makes everything merrier! Today, I thought I would share some of the ways I planned to decorate my envies this year.

This stamp to me is perfect for stamping on your hoilday envies-I would definitely open one of these first, because I know there is not a bill inside! To make it merrier I stamped and embossed the Happy Holidays then flipped over the flap and added the Snow Dots stamp to the bottom of the envie. I gave it a bit a of cheer on the front with the trees from the Spread Joy set and a little Christmas postmark stamp (I don’t recommend trying to mail it with this postmark!)

Why not add a little surprise to the inside of your envie? This Hero Arts envelope liner template makes it fun and easy! I used the snowflake stamps on kraft to make my own patterned liner.

If you are not planning to mail the card, and will giving out holiday cards with gift cards inside, it is always fun to personalize the envie with the recipient’s name and a fun image.  I made a bunch of these for the folks at doggie day care who take great care of our pup all year long.

Christmas-travaganza!

November 26, 2012

Welcome to the December Christmas-travaganza as it is Day 5 at A
Blog Named Hero! It’s Virginia Lu here (from Yes, Virginia..) and I am so excited to be part of this awesome blog event! I am sharing some ideas as to how I use this stamp in a few different ways…

Aspen Festive Ornaments
Previously I had made two cards with this versatile cling stamp ( see this and this).

This time I have another take on the same stamp. You can follow simple instructions and supplies to see how easy it really is to make!
 MERRY CHRISTMAS

Make card from card stock
Emboss the image in white and color the ornaments with water brush pen
Cut out the images and adhere with pop dots
 Add jute and sentiment
 good tidings this Christmas
Lastly, I used the cling stamp for a tone on tone background and added a few fun elements  (washi tape, BG paper strip and ribbon bow) for the card. Done!
